1-8-14 He Calls Me (an Acrostic Sonnet)

I heard a voice within my heart so clear,

Melodious and piercing called my name;

Uniquely calming, quieting my fear,

Since then I’ve never really been the same.

There was no doubt at all whose voice I heard,

For when the Shepherd speaks, the lost sheep knows.

Obedient, I listed toward His word

Like flowers seek the sun whe’er it goes.

Led by the Master’s voice, I had to follow;

Oh, even now He leads me through the day!

When Jesus speaks, the world seems frail and hollow,

He guides me every step along the way.

In silence or within the noisy crowd

My Shepherd’s voice is heard both clear and loud.
