This morning You told me I could ask for anything,
anything at all.
What in all the worlds could I need, Beloved?
I have You!
Does a fish in the ocean ask for water?
Does air ask for a breeze?
I cannot ask that You stay with me always.
That is like asking the sun to be bright.
I have no desire, for You provide.
Indeed, Your grace is sufficient.
Why then would You say I could ask for anything?
This is a test, I’m sure of it.
Let me dwell in the blanket of silence and listen.
Thank you, Lord, for exposing my foolishness.
I ask for Your forgiveness.
I ask that Your will be done.
Please lead me to the lost so they may be saved.
Please expand my heart so I may contain more
of Your perfect love.
Teach me to pray.
Teach me to ask.
