3-19-14 Sanctification (an Acrostic Sonnet)

Image

Separation happened with first sin;

As Adam fell, he took us all with him.

No longer sanctified, man and his kin

Could not face God; their future now was grim.

Then God sent Jesus, sanctified  from birth,

Into this sinful world to save us all.

Found in His sacrifice was hope and worth,

If we believe and heed our Master’s call.

Cast all your cares on He who paid the price,

And if you strive to be as Christ is, too,

Then one day all your love and sacrifice

Is sure to make you like Him, bold and true.

On God’s command alone you’re sanctified;

Now follow Christ’s example and abide.
