8-12-14 The Word of God

The word of God is precious to the soul,

A pearl so pure its price cannot be set,

And hid within the heart it takes control,

An antidote for sin whenever met.

When mixed with faith, the word becomes a shield,

Deflecting all assaults from Satan’s sword,

And kept within the mind the word’s revealed,

A map to lead the soul to wisdom stored.

The scriptures do attest to Christ throughout;

From Genesis to Revelation He’s shown,

The Way to Heaven’s gate without a doubt,

To gather all God’s children to His throne.

The word of God, a living water pure,

The Holy Spirit’s voice that will endure.
