8-16-14 Draw Nigh to God

Now who admits they are a hypocrite?

We think we all have got a goodly heart.

You seem so righteous when in church you sit

Then spit and swear as soon as you depart.

Draw near to God, you fake, now on your knees!

Don’t fool yourself in thinking that you’re not.

If these words pierce your soul like stinging bees,

Draw near to God, you’re worse than you once thought.

Now purify your heart with tears and prayer

And don’t give up till God draws near to you.

You must forget what others think or care,

And let the blood of Christ wash over you.

            If you let slip this warning, hypocrite,

            You’re telling God you’re good when you’re unfit.
