8-13-15 Unconditional

love your enemies

But love ye your enemies, and do good,

and lend, hoping for nothing again;

and your reward shall be great,

and ye shall be the children of the Highest:

for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Luke 6:35 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Savior shed His blood for good and bad;
Remember this when you’ve an enemy,
And anyone who’s lost should make you sad,
So share the love God has to set them free.
Not only lend expecting nothing back,
Give love in deed without thought of return.
Without God’s grace you would be ruin and wrack;
If He would take it back you’d surely burn.
To be this way is not so hard to do;
For all your faults the Lord still gives you love.
He’s kind to evil people, thankless, too;
You are a child of God, who rules above.
A child that wants to please his Father should;
Do this by loving all, both bad and good.
  1. Dorothy Sittler says:
    I do not have to like their behaviour though! HE SAID ….. Love the sinner
    Matthew 22:37 (MSG)
    Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.”
    Mark 12:29 (MSG)
    Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.”
    and hate the sin.
    Titus 3:3 (MSG)
    It wasn’t so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more life to come—an eternity of life! You can count on this.
    Exodus 20:4 (MSG)
    No carved gods of any size, shape, or form of anything whatever, whether of things that fly or walk or swim. Don’t bow down to them and don’t serve them because I am God, your God, and I’m a most jealous God, punishing the children for any sins their parents pass on to them to the third, and yes, even to the fourth generation of those who hate me. But I’m unswervingly loyal to the thousands who love me and keep my commandments.
    Psalm 106:40 (MSG)
    And God was furious—a wildfire anger; he couldn’t stand even to look at his people. He turned them over to the heathen so that the people who hated them ruled them. Their enemies made life hard for them; they were tyrannized under that rule. Over and over God rescued them, but they never learned— until finally their sins destroyed them.
    Deuteronomy 9:27 (MSG)
    “Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; don’t make too much of the stubbornness of this people, their evil and their sin, lest the Egyptians from whom you rescued them say, ‘God couldn’t do it; he got tired and wasn’t able to take them to the land he promised them. He ended up hating them and dumped them in the wilderness to die.’
