12-31-15 Living Walking

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25 KJV

To live in sin is then to live in death,

But those who live in Christ do truly live.

The blessed Holy Spirit gives new breath

Within the grace of God that He does give.

Then when we live in Spirit let us walk,

And then by faith we never walk alone.

So when we walk the walk we talk the talk,

For when we’re Heaven-bound the Way is shown.

You have new life from Jesus through His blood,

And life from Christ is life in Christ to stay.

A plant once dead so watered springs a bud,

Now let the whole world see it bloom today.

If you live in the Spirit of the Lord,

Then walk that way as well with one accord.

8-31-15 Delivered or Damned?

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Do you believe in Jesus as your Lord,

Not just by word of mouth but in your soul,

To die upon the cross and rise restored? ¹

Say, have you let the Savior take control?

Is there a blaze within of love and light,

And have you in the Spirit been enslaved? ²

Were you with water baptized once forthright?

If you are like this now, then you are saved.

But if you are not saved you’re lost and damned,

For Jesus is the only way to God.

Believe another way and you’ve been scammed.

The gate to Hell is wide, the way is broad. ³

The time is short; if you’re not saved, repent!

Christ died for you, my friend; He’s Heaven sent.

5-9-15 On Religion

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,

To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, 

and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

It’s vogue to say you’re not religious, yet

You don’t know what a true religion is.

Religion spells belief you don’t regret,

And turns it into action, not show biz.

A child without his parents needs your time

To sail him round the rocky cliffs of life.

Assist the lonely widow past her prime

Who cannot help herself through pain and strife.

Religion helps you set yourself apart

From all the rampant evil running wild.

To be unspotted from the world, you start

By acting just like Jesus, undefiled.

Believe all that you want, you won’t get far.

Religion is the strings on the guitar.
