2-16-16 Give and Take

Druck

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Luke 8:18 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a warning to you lukewarm soul
Who merely ponders Jesus on a whim:
You say you are a Christian, play the role.
You think you’ll skate on in; your chance is grim.
If you will truly give your life to Christ
And use with grace the gifts He gives to you,
The salt you are will then be double spiced;
The love you have, much more will you accrue.
If you believe that you have got it made,
Your show of knowledge now will disappear.
What little faith you claim will soon be swayed;
Your mediocre worship won’t cohere.
Be careful how you hear: from heart or head.
The one will find the Lord, the other’s dead.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: You cannot fake your way into the kingdom of heaven. If you don’t think you’re saved, you’re likely not. Go to the cross right now. You’ll gain a lot.

6-9-15 Good

doing good

See that none render evil for evil unto any man;

but ever follow that which is good,

both among yourselves, and to all men.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
You child of God, who’s more like Jesus now
Than yesterday, for He now lives in you,
Are so compelled by Grace to not allow
An evil for an evil to accrue.
Observe the Golden Rule more now than then,
For in you dwells the Spirit of the Lord,
And teach this way of life to those who ken;
No good can come when sword begats a sword.
So choose to always serve that which is good
Among your fellow saints and to all men.
If you can do it, anybody could;
The greatest good’s the gospel shared again.
Now promulgate the good, on love rely;
If you don’t feed what’s evil it will die.
5-17-15 Grace and Truth
shackles
For the law was given by Moses,
but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 1:17 KJV
            ~~~~~~~~~~~

The Lord gave Moses laws defining sin,

And spelled the things that man should never do,

But laws don’t teach forgiveness there within,

And do not mention grace the whole way through.

So once a year a lamb was sacrificed

To pay for all the sins men did accrue,

Then came along our Savior Jesus Christ,

To be the truth and give God’s grace to you.

He taught the way of love to all who’d hear,

And lived the fullness of God’s righteousness.

He gave His life, a sacrifice so dear,

And through this perfect Grace God’s love confess.

The substance of the shadows of the law

Lived as the Lamb of God without a flaw.
