3-30-15 Neither Fail Nor Forsake

I AM your God, and I will always BE,

I do not sleep, I do not slumber, too.

I watch a star evolve, I watch a flea,

I watch the universe; I’m watching you.

I will not fail you; you can count on Me.

I always keep the promises I make.

I know that life has its adversity;

I won’t abandon you when love’s at stake.

I did not leave when Adam fell from grace,

I never did forsake the prophets bold.

I was with Jesus til sin took His place;

I was with Him when death failed to take hold.

Relax, My child, You’ll never be alone

I AM your God, and you are all My own.

11-23-14 On Patience

As Christ begins to change your heart and mind,

The light of Spirit shines for all to see,

And this attracts more than those of your kind:

It draws the wolves who love to disagree.

They may be souls within themselves at war,

Or those who want to snuff the Christ-light out,

But they will want to drag you down and more

To prove you wrong or fill you full of doubt.

Rejoice, for these temptations help you grow!

The mind of Christ brings patience and restraint,

And born by much compassion you will know

Another soul the gospel can acquaint.

            The acid of adversity makes strong

            Dependence on the Savior all along.

9-14-14 Be of Good Courage

Adversity, affliction and ordeals

Are common to the mortal life of man;

When suffering we send up our appeals

And pray that God remove the troubled span.

The sorrows and the pains that come to all

Cannot be circumvented all the time;

If you hope in the Lord and bide His call,

Your courage will be known by God sublime.

He’ll touch your heart and strengthen it with care,

Regardless of the trials that you face.

Sometimes you’ll be made whole, sometimes laid bare,

But either way He’ll see you win the race.

Put all your faith in God when times are grim;

He’s just a prayer away so trust in Him.

8-29-14 When the Wheels Fall Off Your Cart

It seems right now that things cannot be worse;

The world has turned against you once again.

You wonder if you’ve fallen in a curse,

And where you are is sure not where you’ve been.

The Lord has such big plans for you in store;

He knows exactly what you’re going through.

You will survive this hardship and much more;

One day you’ll understand that this is true.

Do all you can today to remedy

Adversity that seems to block your way.

Have faith that God ere long will set you free;

The storm will pass and lead to brighter day.

            Rejoice, my friend! The Lord is guiding you.

            The darkness falls away when light breaks through.

7-12-14 My Friend

Though troubled times may come to try your soul,

Or enemies with hatred apprehend;

If grief comes down and seems to take control,

You know that I will always be your friend.

The winds of change sometimes are harsh and cold,

With bitter nights when loneliness descend;

When strife and pain surround to scream and scold,

Just think of me and I’ll be there, my friend.

Adversity comes quick and then moves slow

And never seems to leave or show an end;

It’s times like these you know just where to go,

The love we share endures through trial or trends;

There’s nothing like the bond between two friends.
