2-1-16 Of Light and Love

love-your-neighbor

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

1 John 2:10 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
If you abide in light you know the source;
That light did not originate in you.
That under God’s good grace there is, of course,
The love of Christ that wants to pass it through.
Since Jesus is the light of all the world, (John 8:12)
If you believe in Him, you are that light as well. (Matthew 5:14)
The lifting wings of love cannot stay furled
If you within the arms of Jesus dwell.
So, naturally, your light’s revealed as love,
And love will radiate to all you know,
And even strangers feel the light you’re of
And be attracted to its giving glow.
With light like this there is no stumbling.
There’s so much love around it’s humbling.
REMEMBER: Christ helps you see every step of your journey.
12-28-15 Lost and Found
lost sheep
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Matthew 18:12-13 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

You wandered lost within the wilderness

Before you even knew that you were lost,

And by the time you came to some distress

In jagged rocks and winter winds that tossed,

The Savior had pursued you all along

With such a love that can’t be full explained.

His outstretched hand was there your whole lifelong;

His mark upon your heart so deep ingrained,

And when you finally fall into His arms,

He’ll put you on His shoulders safe and strong,

To bring you Home where nothing hurts or harms,

Rejoicing all the way with cheer and song.

O can you hear Him calling out your name?

Just put your hand in His. That’s why He came.

REMEMBER: The instant you make Jesus your personal Lord and Savior there is a celebration in Heaven that continues forever.

10-17-15 Strength Renewed

flying eagle

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
A bride, a child, a servant and a friend
All wait upon the One who’s worth the wait;
Anticipation breathes without an end,
And hope in confidence does actuate.
Beyond the veil all faith is magnified,
Baptized in love so deep and then returned,
Borne on the sigh of Spirit undenied
Back to the one who waits a grace unearned.
Climb heavenward on graceful eagle wings,
Called on by strength renewed the promised land.
Come now revived and run to arms that brings
Caresses to the soul at last in hand.
Devotion to the Lord brings fortitude.
Delivered with a kiss is love pursued.
6-10-15 Cast Your Burden
burden
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 55:22 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

Whatever you may have belongs to God,

And moreso if you gave your life to Christ,

Yet here you sit, this body roughly shod,

Bombarded by temptation’s daily tryst.

So cast your burden now unto the Lord.

Don’t let this moment pass with one concern.

He died on your behalf, His blood was poured,

So live with love for Him and all in turn.

Now, Jesus won’t endure your fall from grace,

He promised He would keep you safe from harm.

Let go of all the burdens you embrace

And fall into the Savior’s loving arms.

Release unto the Lord your laded pain;

He’ll lift you up, and you He shall sustain.

3-26-15 Greatest in the Kingdom

jesus-girl

The greatest in the kingdom is the least:

A little child without pretentious claim

Who waits until the guests have left the feast

To have the smallest portion all the same.

A little child is humble, kind and shy,

Who lives to hear her Father’s loving call

Then runs into His arms not asking why,

Expecting no reward or gift at all.

The child of God thinks nothing of herself,

Without the selfishness of evil’s sting,

And leaves her own needs high upon the shelf,

Reliant on her God for everything.

            Whoever’s humble as a little child

            Is greatest in the kingdom, meek and mild.

            ~~~~~~~~~~~
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,
the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:4 KJV
3-23-15 Abide in Me
abideime
You are the branch, I am the vine, you see.
If you would bear good fruit, Abide in Me.
You seek the truth, the truth will set you free.
If you would know the truth, Abide in Me.
Love God with all you have, we both agree.
If you would love Him more, Abide in Me.
Just call on Me and I will hear your plea.
To have whate’er you ask, Abide in Me.
You must keep My commandment, that’s the key.
To love as I love you, Abide in Me.
The way to Heaven has just one decree:
To walk the streets of gold, Abide in Me.
I am the way, the truth, the life to thee.
To rest within My arms, Abide in Me.
1-24-15 Take Comfort
tears
A friend of many years has passed away,
Their pain and sorrow will be borne no more,
Yet there goes half your night and half your day;
Anf half your broken heart is on the floor.
Take comfort in the Savior’s arms today
 And lean your tired head against His chest;
He holds you tight and wipes your tears away,
He whispers in your ear and gives you rest.
The world it seems no longer is attuned;
In fact it seems it’s crumbled all apart.
Take comfort in the Lord, He’ll bind your wound;
In time He’ll even heal your broken heart.
Your friend has left this place for glory’s light;
She’s taking comfort in Christ’s love tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~~

He healeth the broken in heart,

and bindeth up their wounds.

Psalm 147:3 KJV

7-5-14 Comfort (a Sonnet)

comfort

Your days are filled with misery and pain;

It seems that no one understands at all.

A constant grief flows out of you like rain,

And ev’ry time you rise you seem to fall.

Recline your tired head against my breast;

Let go the weariness within your bones.

I’ve come to give you peace, to give you rest,

To mend your broken heart that weeps and moans.

You now are safe and snug within my arms;

My friend, I loved you ere you felt such loss.

I came to free you from all worldly charms

And took your sins to hang upon that cross.

Now nestle here within my warm embrace

And know at last you’re saved by faith and grace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you…
