11-19-14 BE

Before creation God was One in Three;

Eternal, always Now and always Here.

He opened up His mouth and uttered “BE,”

Establishing at once all you endear.

The heaven and the earth was not, then was;

O friend, can you imagine that decree?

Give praise to God Almighty, the First Cause,

Who set the stars in motion with one “BE!”

In the beginning, ere the world you see,

The Word was God, and God was with the Word,

Forever was and will forever BE

The Author of all things, your life conferred.

From galaxies to e’en the lowly flea,

The universe in place with “LET THERE BE!”

11-16-14 For Richer or Poorer

Before complaining of your lot in life,

Consider this and take it to your heart:

The Lord knows all about your pain and strife;

He authors your estate from stop to start.

You may think you know better where to live

Upon the ladder of success and health,

But chances are you’d take more than you give

And spend all of your time with fame and wealth.

Just ask old Lot who gave him all he had

Both on his worst day and upon his best,

And he will look to heaven sad or glad

Then tell you that the Lord gave and supressed.

Before you gloat, before you bitch and moan,

Regardless of your lot, it’s all on loan.

10-16-14 The Lord’s Prayer 01: Hallowed Be Thy Name

O God, Author of life, the great I AM,

We come to You on fearful, bended knees;

On our behalf here sits the Worthy Lamb,

That on His life we call You Father, please.

And O with joy and gratitude we pray,

Creations, now Your children for all time;

We reach to You in Heaven on this day

With prayers and supplications upward climb.

Your Hallowed Name is worshipped everywhere,

In all the sounds of Heaven and below;

Our Saviour Jesus taught us this Lord’s Prayer

So that our bond with You may always grow.

Accept our reverent plea, O Father God;

Within Your Presence we are humbly awed.

10-9-14 Author and Finisher

Look now to Jesus, let His glory shine;

The author of your faith, and object, too,

And in the spirit hope and love align,

That Christ will finish all these things as true.

He left the bosom of his Father’s home,

Abandoned there the form of God divine

To come into the roughshod world to roam

And took the form of servant recombine.

Instead of glory, Jesus suffered shame

Unto the cruel cross he died for you,

And now sits next to God in form and name

Interceding through your point of view.

The Son of God was once the Son of man,

So that in faith you’ll share God’s perfect plan.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,

despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand

of the throne of God.
