1-23-16 One Thousand Horns

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The body of the Lord should work as one,

For schisms and divisions work against

The gospel and the work that should be done

To bring the lost sheep home who were dispensed.

If we’re to be one body and one mind

We ought to preach and teach the selfsame thing.

It does no good if we are misaligned

Like walking when one foot is in a sling.

There is but one true Savior, Jesus Christ;

His words and actions clearly lead the way.

His awesome love for us was well sufficed;

He told us to repent and then obey.

If there’s one thousand horns in battle blown,

Who knows which way to victory is known?

9-25-15 The Perfect Example

²¹ For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

²² Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

²³ Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

²⁴ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

²⁵ For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Who chose to leave His bright celestial throne

To come and save His sheep through pain and strife.

He had no sin Himself but came for ours,

Enduring all the wrath of God and man,

Who could have freed Himself with awesome powers

But chose to bring salvation as His plan,

And all the torment that our Lord endured,

Reviled, threatened, beaten, crucified,

He did for you so you could be secured.

He loved you so He suffered, bled and died.

O friend, I know He thought of you that day

As He was hanging on the cross that way!

9-5-15 Ascension

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,

he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Imagine being there that awesome day,

Among those with the resurrected Lord,

Who learned from Christ Himself just how to pray

And seen Him make the blind and deaf restored!

O just to hear His final words on earth

As angels gathered ’round up in the air!

No one that’s ever been of mortal birth

Will fully understand the wonders there.

And then to watch the Savior start to rise!

The host of heaven there among the clouds!

If we were there we’d scarce believe our eyes

As Jesus pierced the sky above the crowd!

He sits now on the right hand next to God!

When He returns the universe will laud!

6-23-15 Heart Burn

And they said one to another,

Did not our heart burn within us,

while he talked with us by the way,

and while he opened to us the scriptures?

To walk with Jesus while Emmaus bound,

And listen as He opened scriptures wide!

To hear Him speak the mysteries profound;

My heart ablaze with Jesus by my side!

Amazing as it was that awesome day,

How truly wonderful it must have been,

My soul still leaps with joy with such display,

Just knowing that His presence grows within!

Here dwells the Holy Spirit like a fire,

It burns with love I scarcely can contain!

The Savior speaks and fuels my one desire

To do the will of God and thus remain.

His fiery words are whispered in my ear,

And that’s the only voice I truly hear.

3-12-15 Raise in Praise

Let’s raise our voice in praise of God above

With mighty congregations full of joy!

As we give thanks our hearts are full of love

For all the awesome works our Lord employ!

O God, You implement Your perfect plan,

Your Holy voice creating everything

To manifest redeeming sinful man

Through Jesus Christ our Savior, Lord and King!

Your Grace is such that we do not deserve;

O God, how marvelous are all Your ways!

With all our hearts and minds we gladly serve

And offer our whole lives in humble praise!

Let’s sing and shout devotion to our God!

Let’s raise the roof of worship and applaud!
