5-30-15 Withhold Not Good

withhold not good

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due,

when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Proverbs 3:27 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
When payday comes around then pay your bills,
For this due to them you contract with.
When there are those in need don’t buy the frills;
Remember your poor past and give forthwith.
The Lord is full of grace beyond your ken;
The fact that you are here is proof indeed.
Extend that goodness out and now to men,
And when the Spirit tells you, then proceed.
Serve ministries and those who preach the Word;
It helps them bring the lost into the fold.
The means are in your hands, don’t be deferred;
Tomorrow is not yours to put on hold.
Withhold not good from them to whom it’s due;
Just think of all the good God’s given you.
4-23-15 The Lamb
Lamb-in-Revelation-610x350
There comes a day when all the universe
Will rise up with one voice and praise the Lamb,
And everything that is, though so diverse,
Acclaims the worthy One of the I AM.
The Lamb was slain for all the sins of man,
Receiving power as the Lord of Lords,
And riches of the grace that e’er began,
And wisdom far beyond the mind explored,
And strength to conquer evil dark and grim,
And honor equal to our Father God,
And glory of salvation promised Him,
And blessings evermore the heavens laud.
            The Lamb will always sit upon the throne
            Forever and forever, ever known.
            ~~~~~~~~~~~

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Revelation 5:11-13 KJV

4-7-15 Abound in Hope

abounding in hope

When we give all to God we’re filled with hope,

Believing that He’ll give us what we need

To live abundantly and not just cope,

To live for Him alone in thought and deed.

And when we live for God, the Holy Ghost

Directs our every step along the way.

Then through the march of life, from post to post,

Our hope may then abound until that day

When we approach that final mortal breath,

Such peace and joy will fill our hopeful soul.

Anticipation swells when facing death,

For there the life beyond is real and whole.

The hope you need to make it through the night

Is soon replaced with love when day shines bright.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Now the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13 KJV
2-10-15 Clearly
Carinae Supernova
The wondrous power of our God is seen,
Invisible Himself beyond our ken,
But clearly known by nature’s noble scene
From supernova grand to simple wren.
But there are those who claim God can’t exist
Because He won’t provide a selfie shot,
Yet proof of Him is always in our midst;
It’s easier to say just what He’s not.
So when the Day of Judgment is at hand
And every knee shall bow before the Lord,
There will be no excuse that can withstand
The final resolution and reward.
You cannot see God sitting on His throne,
But all that He has made is clearly shown.
~~~~~~~~~~~

For the invisible things of him

from the creation of the world are clearly seen,

being understood by the things that are made,

even his eternal power and Godhead;

so that they are without excuse:

1-12-15 Dark Nights

dark night

A homesick ache will sometimes strike my soul,

A  tired longing from all earthly bonds;

Then there are moments when I doubt the goal,

A skepticism of the great beyond.

When faith grows weak, I turn to God in mind

In hopes that He will hear my weakened prayer,

And groan in spirit, feeling unrefined,

To save me from my anguish and despair.

Then quietly my pleas turn into praise,

A subtle shift from fear to gratitude;

With just a touch from Him my spirits raise,

My heart grows lighter, larger and renewed.

When melancholy brings me to my knees

I put my faith in Christ; He won’t displease

~~~~~~~~~~~
Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance,
and my God.
Psalm 42:11 KJV
