11-2-15 The Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound

The Spirit of the Lord is with you now,

The same upon Isaiah and in Christ;

When you called Jesus Savior to avow

The Holy Ghost became within you spliced.

The Comforter that Jesus spoke about,

The power that brought Him back from the dead

Can work through you, of that there is no doubt,

To preach the gospel to the meek ahead.

The Holy Ghost can bind a broken heart,

Bring liberty to captives bound in sin.

Obedience to Jesus sets apart,

And love will let the miracles begin.

Be clear, it isn’t you that does these things;

The Spirit of the Lord the Savior brings.

1-24-15 Take Comfort

A friend of many years has passed away,

Their pain and sorrow will be borne no more,

Yet there goes half your night and half your day;

Anf half your broken heart is on the floor.

Take comfort in the Savior’s arms today

 And lean your tired head against His chest;

He holds you tight and wipes your tears away,

He whispers in your ear and gives you rest.

The world it seems no longer is attuned;

In fact it seems it’s crumbled all apart.

Take comfort in the Lord, He’ll bind your wound;

In time He’ll even heal your broken heart.

Your friend has left this place for glory’s light;

She’s taking comfort in Christ’s love tonight.

12-17-14 Hands Up!

I lift my hands in praise, O Lord and King,

Surrendering my will to You above!

Your name’s exalted, let the whole world sing

Eternal hymns of  glory, thanks and love!

And while I live Your presence fills my heart,

Directing every word that I should say!

Your Holy Spirit’s here, it won’t depart!

Thank God for You, my Savior, every way!

To me You are the way, the truth, the life,

The perfect Lamb that gave Your life for me!

The world may try to blind me with its strife,

But You just touch my eyes and I can see!

I lift my hands in praise, O Lord and King!

Your name’s exalted, let the whole world sing!

10-31-14 Not in Temples

You cannot place a label on the Lord

That puts Him in a box of any sort,

And those who try must surely be ignored;

A trillion billion words would come up short.

You cannot build a temple or a church,

Then tell the world He dwells within its walls.

A claim like that is vain and will besmirch;

You cannot bind Him to the greatest halls.

The Spirit of our God is everywhere;

He’s closer than your pulse, your breath, your mind.

Just open up your heart and go in prayer;

He’s waiting for you Here, a cinch to find.

God made the world and all the things therein;

The only place He isn’t is your sin.
