1-9-16 One In All

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

There might be some surprised when heaven’s gained,

Observing others they had thought were lost.

The Catholic and Baptist have obtained

The victory that’s gained when Christ is crossed.

Denominations do not matter here,

For all who gave their lives to Jesus lives.

The differences we had will disappear;

When baptized in the Spirit grace forgives.

Those covered in His blood are one indeed,

For Christ is one with each who come to Him.

The CEO and pauper both are freed;

We all will sing the same celestial hymn.

Black, red or brown or yellow, tan or white,

We all are one in He who is the Light.

12-9-15 The Perfect Bond

And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness.

THE PERFECT BOND

Of all the aspects of a Christian heart,

Of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind,

Of meekness, patience, tolerance impart,

Forgiving one another so refined,

Above them all is charity and love;

Without it all the others are a show.

Agape’s like the stitching in a glove,

The letters in these words you’ve come to know.

Love is the perfect bond of unity,

The source of all that’s beautiful and true.

The way to run a just community

Begins with selfless love from me and you.

The fountainhead of love is God Himself.

His Spirit lies in Christ and in yourself.

8-5-15 Two As One

⁶ But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

⁷ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

⁸ And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

⁹ What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

A man should leave his parents for his wife

And she should cleave to him the same way, too.

Their marriage bond should last for all their life,

For they are one in essence, no more two.

God made both man and woman for this end,

To share a single love that’s greater still.

He fit them perfectly to then transcend

The normal bond of friendship and good will.

What God intended let no man pervert;

One woman and one man are meant to be,

And any other way would then subvert

The sovereign will of God, His set decree.

Then two as one becomes one with the Lord;

Beloved and beloved, one accord.

4-9-15 The Bond of Peace

The Holy Spirit binds us all as one

Who came unto the shadow of the cross

And gave our life to Christ, God’s first-born Son,

Now counted closer than a family’s gloss.

So here we are as one and Spirit led.

The things that caused contention surely cease,

For now the love of Christ’s the common thread

That brings so naturally a bond of peace.

Where there was once dissension we find grace,

No longer slave to sin and anger’s hook;

Forgiveness helps us run the longer race,

A stamina not gained by hook or crook.

When differences arise within the flock,

The key of Christ will open any lock.

3-15-15 No Longer Two

No matter where you go upon this world,

The Christian that you meet is one with you;

The differences you have are soon unfurled

As children of the Lord no longer two.

Now one in mind and heart and spirit dwell,

The faith you have in Jesus is your bond;

Such unity in love you both can tell,

So manifested from our Father donned.

As Christ shows us compassion, we should, too,

And we with one another be as He;

Now strengthened for the task we’re called to do,

To share the gospel truth for all to see.

Show mercy, grace and love to all you meet;

A brother now, or later saved so sweet.

3-10-15 One Spirit One Body

When you let Jesus rule your heart and mind,

Accepting Him as Savior, King and Lord,

And so in faith believe His Love defined,

His blood was shed for you, your sins deplored.

The Holy Spirit washes over you,

And who you used to be is dead and gone;

You’re born again, regenerating new,

Now one within His Spirit to live on.

The body’s compromised of many parts,

Each doing what is needed for the whole;

The blood of Jesus beats within our hearts,

Enabling us to seek the unsaved soul.

Oh friend, believe that Jesus died for you

And drink the Spirit’s cup – be born anew!
