12-8-15 The Strait and Narrow

¹³ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: ¹⁴ Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

THE STRAIT AND NARROW

The path to Heaven’s like a razors edge,

‘Twill shred your flesh to ribbons on the way.

Too few will walk this fine and narrow ledge,

This sacrifice of self, no room to sway.

Then strait ahead is Jesus; He’s the gate.

There is no other way to get inside.

His blood will cover you, your sins negate

As you walk through the Door to then abide.

But many choose the wide and easy road;

The company is gay and jubilant

But leads to sinful ruin and Hell’s abode

Where all you hear is weeping and lament.

Eternal life is found through Christ alone.

You must go through the gate to reach the throne.

8-31-15 Delivered or Damned?

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mark 16:16 KJV

Do you believe in Jesus as your Lord,

Not just by word of mouth but in your soul,

To die upon the cross and rise restored? ¹

Say, have you let the Savior take control?

Is there a blaze within of love and light,

And have you in the Spirit been enslaved? ²

Were you with water baptized once forthright?

If you are like this now, then you are saved.

But if you are not saved you’re lost and damned,

For Jesus is the only way to God.

Believe another way and you’ve been scammed.

The gate to Hell is wide, the way is broad. ³

The time is short; if you’re not saved, repent!

Christ died for you, my friend; He’s Heaven sent.

1-30-14 Obedience

Obedience is crucial as a child

Who does not have a full awareness yet,

As such maturity will get him riled

Then later to be filled with some regret.

But if he does the things that he is told

By those who really want him to evolve,

He’ll take the Lord’s commandments to uphold

In love to God and from his own resolve.

But he that doesn’t care to thus obey

The rules of his own parents or his God

Will lack the skills of life and then fall prey

To Satan’s will whose way is wide and broad.

Obey the smaller things when you are young,

And you will climb with ease the highest rung.
