11-4-15 Peace

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

PEACE

The Prince of peace exists within your heart,

Harmonious with all the things on earth

And heaven, where His vibrant love impart

a constant, living stream of grace and worth.

You are a child of God, and more than this,

Evolving and becoming one with Christ,

A reconciled light of love and bliss,

An image of the pearl that’s greatly priced.

By every means does Jesus give you peace

And none can take away this gift divine.

Your faith becomes a knowing that won’t cease,

A tranquil quietude of love so fine.

The peace that Christ provides does liberate;

Serenity and patience still and great.

8-24-15 Bringing Sight

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

The blind are all around you, look and see.

They stumble through their life within the dark,

But tell them this, they bellow “Let me be!”

They take offense at every kind remark.

The light of Jesus lives within you now,

So take the bushel off and let it shine!

It radiates to those who will allow

The gospel to be shared, the truth divine.

Someone will stumble forward reaching out

With faith that Christ alone can give them sight.

The quick’ning of the Spirit makes them shout

As they are saved and finally see the light.

The blind are all around you, but be brave

And let your light so shine; its love will save.

His soul may benefit in worship span;

His body rest from labor and be glad.

His necessary acts should not be banned:

A sheep can sure be rescued from a ditch, ¹

The Sabbath’s made for man to so enrich.

Here Jesus was the Son of Man divine,³

The instituter of the Sabbath day.

He could have said “The Sabbath day is Mine,”

But taught them out of patient love the way.

Man wasn’t made to keep the Sabbath pure;

It’s made for man so he may rest assure.

2-18-15 The Word

Before the world, our Savior was the Word;

Both God and with God, Logos was and is,

Who with His voice the new born heavens stirred,

And all creation rightfully is His.

We cannot scarce imagine this at all,

But God Himself came down and walked the earth,

To save us from the curse of Adam’s fall;

The Word as flesh was perfect from His birth.

How wonderful that God did love us SO

That He BE-came a man, this Word divine!

He sacrificed Himself so all would know

Just how to be the branch with He the vine.

Now, in the first beginning was the Word.

With God and God Himself, the Word is heard.

2-12-15 On Finding and Losing

If you think carnal life a splendid thing

Without acknowledging the Savior’s role,

If you admire your hedonistic fling,

You’ll find your life right here but lose your soul.

How tragic choosing tin instead of gold,

To throw away the altar for the gift!

Instead, stand up for Jesus and be bold,

For corporeal life goes by so swift.

Eternity is more than meets the eye

To those of us who choose the life divine.

We serve the Lord and seek the by and by;

To lose our lives for Christ’s the starting line.

What choices will you make this mortal blink?

The time has come; it’s later than you think.

1-19-15 In Spirit and in Truth

The very essence of our Father Is

Perfection both in spirit and in truth

And all that’s holy and divine is His,

Defies in understanding sage or sleuth.

God Is a Spirit and The Spirit’s God,

Then uncompounded, indivisible.

In spirit you must worship, and thus awed

Commune with Him, who is immutable.

In truth you also worship God the same,

For He is Truth eternal through and through,

And in the spirit truth you must proclaim,

Created in His image, Being too.

Approach the Lord in Spirit and be true

And you will know the Father’s will for you.

12-16-14 Harvest Looms*

Oh, can you feel the day grow closer now?

Be sure the enemy can feel this, too!

He drags his claws across the earth to plough

And sows his evil seeds against us few.

Plant upon all hearts the Savior’s love,

And fertilize it well with works of good.

We need each other now to rise above;

The wheat of saints won’t be misunderstood.

Now come into the field with me; don’t shirk!

The harvest day approaches, see the signs?

Don’t try to pull the tares, that’s reaper-work!

Now quickly spread the gospel so divine!

A fire’s being stoked, His blade is keen!

Let’s help each other out; time to be seen!

10-5-14 Be Ready

If Jesus comes today are you prepared?

If you have doubt at all then get that way!

Don’t waste another hour and think you’re spared;

He’ll be here any moment of the day.

If Christ’s blood covers you, resign your will

And let His love shine forth in word and deed.

Go out and save the lost, His work fulfill,

And follow God’s commandments though you bleed.

If you are waiting for some proof or sign

Before you give your heart to Jesus then,

This IS the proof, this IS the cue divine,

Don’t wait another second once again!

When He returns your heart will give a shout!

Be ready NOW! He’s near! Don’t be left out!
