11-28-15 Taste

Rotten-Inside 2

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:20 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
TASTE
It isn’t always easy judging fruit.
Sometimes you have to take a bite to see.
The tree it came from may have good repute,
But in the end it’s taste, don’t you agree?
A man who beats his wife may go to church
And act as pious as the Son of Man.
If you’re attune to Spirit in your search
You’ll see he’s filthy as a garbage can.
The Holy Ghost will lead you to the truth,
Will pull away the curtain of a lie.
Not everybody evil acts uncouth.
Some heavenly discretion trumps the sly.
Most times a rotten fruit’s as plain as day,
But some will fool; let Spirit lead the way.
4-11-15 On Defilement
evil heart
If you put something vile into your mouth
It travels to the stomach then the gut,
And you will then feel sick as it heads south
To soon be shot out through the you-know-what.
The things the mouth spews out is worse than that:
The lie, the filthy jest, the words that hate,
The gossip and the smears, the idle chat,
For from the heart most evil would create.
The dung that leaves the heart defiles a man,
As it’s the fountain which defilement flows.
Then hateful words and deeds the streams that span
Throughout the speaker’s world to decompose.
From out the mouth will spout two noxious things:
Some stomach rot or evil the heart brings.
~~~~~~~~~~~

But those things which proceed out of the mouth

come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Matthew 15:18 KJV

1-22-15 To the Elders

shepherd

The elders of the church have thus been tasked

To shepherd well the members of their church,

To volunteer their time and not be asked,

To be assessible without a search.

This is not any job from nine to five;

Responsibilities are round the clock,

To act not with constraint but always strive

To help all with their needs without a squawk.

The love of Christ is present in you all,

Regardless of your status in the fold.

Not one of you are too high not to fall;

Not one of you are too set to remold.

To oversee the flock you have to be

A servant to them all and happily.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Feed the flock of God which is among you,
taking the oversight thereof,
not by constraint, but willingly;
not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind
1 Peter 5:2 KJV
