8-5-15 Two As One

Two as One

6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Mark 10:6-9 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
A man should leave his parents for his wife
And she should cleave to him the same way, too.
Their marriage bond should last for all their life,
For they are one in essence, no more two.
God made both man and woman for this end,
To share a single love that’s greater still.
He fit them perfectly to then transcend
The normal bond of friendship and good will.
What God intended let no man pervert;
One woman and one man are meant to be,
And any other way would then subvert
The sovereign will of God, His set decree.
Then two as one becomes one with the Lord;
Beloved and beloved, one accord.
4-1-15 Fooled
fool-tool
There’s nothing worse than dealing with a fool,
Especially a fool consumed by lust or greed;
It’s easier to pull a stubborn mule
Than soon convince a fool to then concede.
A fool that’s in his folly please beware,
For he will pull you in then more and more;
It’s better to come cross a mother bear
Who’s had her babies stolen just before.
And then there is the fool with half a wit
That tries to separate you from your wealth.
If you refuse to give he’ll throw a fit
And stress you out so much you lose your health.
If you wear God’s full armor you’ll be tooled;
You’ll be prepared in Christ and won’t be fooled.
Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man,
rather than a fool in his folly.
Proverbs 17:12 KJV
7-10-14 No Looking Back
plough
If you desire to follow Jesus now
You must be ready now to lose your life,
For laying hands upon the heavy plow
Demands you give your all through whip or knife.
There can be nothing you have left behind
That makes you want to stop and turn around.
The way of Christ requires all your mind,
Your body and your love for Him profound.
If you look back upon your former days
And long for something you once loved to do,
You’ll surely stumble, fall and lose your way,
So leave the past behind and follow through.
When you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour
You leave upon the cross your old behaviour.
“No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back,
is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62  KJV
