2-15-16 Perish

¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

For well we ought look back upon the day

When Israel descended into bane.

The temple may have stood on grand display

But all the wise men thought with half their brain.

America was founded under God

And while our hearts inclined our works were great,

But now our worshiping is largely flawed

And all our understanding obfuscate.

The fall of this Republic’s drawing nigh

Unless there is revival in the land.

‘Turn back unto the Lord!’ should be our cry,

‘One nation under God!’ should be our brand.

We’ve fallen into ruin, we’re on the brink.

If we don’t turn to God we’ll surely sink.

11-23-15 The Mind of Christ

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus

Who showed us how to live in love’s embrace;

That love be willing to be sacrificed,

And then no matter what be full of grace.

He was the perfect pattern, free from sin,

A humble servant with a heart to give,

Obedient to God through thick and thin,

The mind of Christ is constantly in prayer,

Submitting to the will of Abba God,

Unbroken intercession to repair

The brokenness of man which sin has flawed.

Think only of those things that love sufficed;

Yes, may you always have the mind of Christ.

8-11-15 Repent!

And herein do I exercise myself,

to have always a conscience

void of offence toward God,

and toward men.

Includes avoiding sickness at all cost,

But if it does arise attack it fresh

Lest sickness turn to death then all is lost.

The Holy Spirit guides us on to God,

Convicting us if we should start to sin,

And when we sin, repent from what is flawed

Lest sin evolve and apathy begin.

Repent! Assault offence at every turn.

Admit it right away to God and man.

The fire of your repentance makes you burn;

You won’t touch it again, not if you can.

Stay honest with the Lord: repent and pray,

To keep your conscience clear from day to day.

In Eden and again when all’s complete,

The Earth in all her splendor will be known,

Yet even now her beauty’s so replete

God’s glory can be found in leaf and stone.

Right now we can’t see God upon His throne,

But take a walk outdoors, His glory’s shown.

4-22-15 Press Toward the Mark

If you believe the promises of God,

And of His only Son who spoke for Him,

By Grace will we be saved though we are flawed,

The blood of Christ alone atones the grim.

Then those of us whom Jesus Christ has called

We keep our sight on Him and His estate.

2-4-15 Do Well

Religion tends to make so many laws

Both out of fear or power gone amok,

Before you know it, it has got its claws

Into your home with its judicial muck.

It’s quite one thing to heed the word of God,

But not to legislate the word to death.

The ways of man are volatile and flawed;

God gave us sense enough to take a breath.

The Sabbath day’s for resting, this is true,

But if you have a flat, then change the tire.

Don’t show up just for church and take a pew;

If next door’s up in flames, put out the fire!

The Holy Ghost should be your first real guide;

Just practice listening – He won’t misguide.

1-3-15 Believe

Don’t think that some vague hope is good enough

To buy your way to Heaven’s golden shore;

Because you bear conclusions you’ve the stuff

To satisfy the Lord and gain rapport.

You must believe in God until you ache,

Until you know without a doubt He is.

You see Him every moment you’re awake,

You cannot touch a thing that isn’t His.

How can you claim to be a child of God

And wander ’round an orphan in your heart?

Seek him until your eyes are old and flawed,

Until you can’t tell night and day apart.

How can a seeker doubt who does believe?

He’s all around you now; reach out, receive.

11-22-14 Slave to Sin

If you are not a Christ-born child of God,

There’s nowhere left to go, no one to help,

For sin has got you bound and scarred and flawed,

A hopeless slave in debt, the devil’s whelp.

No matter how you try to do just good,

The chains of sin are fast around your neck,

But freedom’s found between three nails and wood:

The blood of Jesus saves you from sin’s beck.

Just give your life to Christ, the choice is yours,

And let the Holy Spirit show the way,

And if you fall, repent, God’s mercy soars;

You now belong to Christ, in him you pray.

When Jesus died for you he took your sin,

So live for him, my brother, now begin!
