10-02-15 These Stumbling Times

dark times

10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:10-11 KJV

There is no question these are darker times

Than all the days this world has ever known.

The moral structure failed, there are more crimes,

The stench of sin makes all the earth to groan.

There’s so much hate we see it in the air;

The people that you pass won’t look at you.

Sweet life has lost it’s value; most don’t care,

As if we’ve all gone blind and can’t see through.

The only hope we have is Jesus Christ;

He lights the way with nothing less than love,

And here the grace of God is so sufficed;

Believe in Him and see the way above.

It’s not so hard to love our brother when

We have the perfect light of Christ within.

9-11-15 You Are Not Alone

you are not alone

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Psalm 34:15 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
No matter where you go you’re not alone;
The presence of the Lord will see you through.
His eyes are on you now, His grace is shown:
The righteousness of Jesus dwells in you.
God’s eye of Providence: a blanket warm,
To comfort and protect you faithfully.
His eye of Love to see you through each storm,
A Father’s gaze upon His child set free.
He hears your cries within the tempest roar
When all the world is shouting out their sins.
He answers all your prayers and even more
Responds to every groan as it begins.
You put your faith in Christ upon the throne;
Now rest assured you’ll never be alone.
2-9-15 Just Ask
ask
A father that will give his son a stone
Who asks of him some bread is not a dad;
If you asked God for help with soulful groan,
He’d give you what you need with all He had.
A day will come when you are on your knees,
Your spirit crying out in agony,
Then God will know your heart and long to please;
He sent His Son to save and set you free.
There is no thing a father would not do
To satisfy the longings of his child.
Let Jesus intercede, just ask Him to;
He grants you peace on earth and mercy mild.
God gifts His Spirit if you just request;
If you but ask from Him you will be blessed.
~~~~~~~~~~~

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father,

will he give him a stone?

or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

Luke 11:11-12 KJV

1-12-15 Dark Nights

dark night

A homesick ache will sometimes strike my soul,

A  tired longing from all earthly bonds;

Then there are moments when I doubt the goal,

A skepticism of the great beyond.

When faith grows weak, I turn to God in mind

In hopes that He will hear my weakened prayer,

And groan in spirit, feeling unrefined,

To save me from my anguish and despair.

Then quietly my pleas turn into praise,

A subtle shift from fear to gratitude;

With just a touch from Him my spirits raise,

My heart grows lighter, larger and renewed.

When melancholy brings me to my knees

I put my faith in Christ; He won’t displease

~~~~~~~~~~~
Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance,
and my God.
Psalm 42:11 KJV
11-9-14 Healed
Jesus Healing
You heard my cries and healed me, O my God,
And from Your loving touch I now am whole.
I once was sick from sin, my life was flawed,
But You gave me the cure and freed my soul.
You are the Great Physician, O my Lord;
My life is now completely in Your hands.
The medicine You give has me restored
And now I praise Your name across these lands.
You loved the world so much You sent Your Son
Who caused the lame to walk and blind to see,
And then took all our sin and died but won
When He defeated death to set us free.
O Lord my God, You heard my wretched groan
Reached down and made me well, no more alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee,

and thou hast healed me.

Psalm 30:2 KJV
