6-20-15 Judge Not

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come,

who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness,

and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts:

and then shall every man have praise of God.

If you perceive a man whose wicked ways

Are hidden by a mask of godliness,

Or if a sister speaks of peace and praise

But beats her children more and loves them less,

Don’t judge them in your heart, though it may be

The hardest thing you’ll ever have to do.

The Lord will come one day, then all shall see

The hidden things of darkness coming through.

There will be no more secrets, no more lies;

The hearts of men exposed without a doubt.

When Jesus peers within our mortal eyes,

We’ll either weep with shame or jump and shout.

Though men may cover up their sinful way,

There are no hidden things on Judgement Day.

4-10-15 The Secret Part

There is a secret part of you that laughs,

An inward spark of love and happiness,

Connected to the Savior, free from gaffes

Or other outward games that bring us stress.

The Lord desires the truth and all that brings,

And deep within the Holy Spirit shares

To all God’s children, not to priests and kings,

The wisdom of the ages asked through prayer.

Oh, happy soul, where Jesus loves to dwell,

Is there not any greater joy than this,

To share the gospel and save one from hell,

To see the Light come on and feel their bliss?

The secret part of you that is at peace

Was born to share the love and never cease.

8-12-14 The Word of God

The word of God is precious to the soul,

A pearl so pure its price cannot be set,

And hid within the heart it takes control,

An antidote for sin whenever met.

When mixed with faith, the word becomes a shield,

Deflecting all assaults from Satan’s sword,

And kept within the mind the word’s revealed,

A map to lead the soul to wisdom stored.

The scriptures do attest to Christ throughout;

From Genesis to Revelation He’s shown,

The Way to Heaven’s gate without a doubt,

To gather all God’s children to His throne.

The word of God, a living water pure,

The Holy Spirit’s voice that will endure.
