2-15-16 Perish

¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

For well we ought look back upon the day

When Israel descended into bane.

The temple may have stood on grand display

But all the wise men thought with half their brain.

America was founded under God

And while our hearts inclined our works were great,

But now our worshiping is largely flawed

And all our understanding obfuscate.

The fall of this Republic’s drawing nigh

Unless there is revival in the land.

‘Turn back unto the Lord!’ should be our cry,

‘One nation under God!’ should be our brand.

We’ve fallen into ruin, we’re on the brink.

If we don’t turn to God we’ll surely sink.

5-1-15 Forgive

Forgive the ones who do you wrong today;

Forgive the ones who know not what they do.

Forgive each time you raise your eyes to pray;

Forgive them though they know they’re hurting you.

Forgive the ones who fill their hearts with hate;

Forgive the ones who want you hateful, too.

Forgive offenses both the small and great;

Forgive them though their words are all untrue.

Forgive the ones who go to court and sue.

Forgive although your honor they attack;

4-23-15 The Lamb

There comes a day when all the universe

Will rise up with one voice and praise the Lamb,

And everything that is, though so diverse,

Acclaims the worthy One of the I AM.

The Lamb was slain for all the sins of man,

Receiving power as the Lord of Lords,

And riches of the grace that e’er began,

And wisdom far beyond the mind explored,

And strength to conquer evil dark and grim,

And honor equal to our Father God,

And glory of salvation promised Him,

And blessings evermore the heavens laud.

            The Lamb will always sit upon the throne

            Forever and forever, ever known.

1-13-15 God or Bust

Unless the Lord is present count it dead

Whatever that is built with human hands;

It may exist a thousand years ahead

But might as well be built with desert sand.

A city that’s forgotten God is doomed

Like Sodom and Gormorrah full of sin;

Then soon by wickedness it is consumed,

As dead inside as though it’s never been.

Invite the Lord to sanction all you do,

And let His Spirit guide your heart and mind;

The earthly things that honor God are true,

And all without His love will fall behind.

Let God build both your church and family,

And everywhere you go, there He will be.

12-11-14 On Drama

No matter where you go there’s some dispute.

When everybody’s right the rest are wrong.

And some will stir the water to pollute,

Or stick their noses where they don’t belong.

You need not go too far, the drama’s near;

It’s probably within your very home,

But you don’t have to fight, no need to jeer;

You don’t have to get mad, no need to foam.

Just lean upon the Lord in silent prayer,

And be compassionate to all you meet.

No need to pry when it’s not your affair,

And if it is be humble and discreet.

A wiser man grows wiser without strife.

Find comfort in the Lord; increase your life.

9-6-14 Every Knee Shall Bow

 

Of all the things in earth and heaven’s realm

The name of Jesus resonates with pow’r,

And there’s no doubt He’s truly at the helm

To guide the will of God home ev’ry hour.

With reverence all knees shall bow to Him

Acknowledging His sovereign rule and reign.

The angels up above break out in hymn

And all the things on earth join the refrain.

And God exalts Him to the highest place

Where He belongs to rule forever more.

We all exist in Jesus Christ’s embrace

To rest within His heart that we adore.

            All things in heaven and all things on earth

            With honor bow to Jesus and His worth.
