12-17-15 Gifts of the Magi

gifts of the magi

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 2:11 KJV

GIFTS OF THE MAGI

The Magi came by following a star

To pay their homage to the King of Kings,

For it was worth their traveling so far

To meet the Lord of Lords and what He brings.

They opened up their treasures and withdrew

Some frankincense and myrrh and precious gold,

These gifts they gave to baby Jesus true

As symbols of the mission He’d uphold.

The gold paid homage to His royalty;

The frankincense for His divinity;

The myrrh to signify humanity:

A King, a God, a sacrifice was He.

The Son of God was born so He could die,

Atonement for our sins to sanctify

REMEMBER: The best gift you can give Jesus is complete surrender of your body, mind and soul to Him. Do this constantly.

3-27-15 Increase and Abound

soup

May Jesus cause your spirit to abound

As He becomes more present in your life,

To make the gospel message to be found

Among the mass of men who live in strife.

As Christ abides in you may love increase,

To be a servant of humanity,

Not thinking of yourself, providing peace,

To show that Jesus lives for all to see.

May God give grace on all you say and do,

And may you live in gratitude each day;

May your love grow like our love grows toward you

And Spirit to expand each time you pray.

When you give of yourself unselfishly

The light of Christ will spark a jubilee.

And the Lord make you to increase and abound

in love one toward another,

and toward all men,

even as we do toward you

1 Thessalonians 3:12 KJV

8-25-14 Jesus

Jesus suffered

He came to earth and took the form of man

To save humanity from sin and death.

So humbly His mortal life began,

Then meekly lived unto His final breath.

Obedient to all the holy laws,

He took the servant’s way for all to see,

And led a sinless life without one pause

To shed His perfect blood for you and me.

How horribly He suffered on the cross!

The weight of ev’ry sin His soul endured.

If we believe in this we’re borne across

To fall into His arms with love assured.

            He died for you, my friend, so you might be

            A child of God forever, always free.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,

and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:8 KJV
