2-15-16 Perish

¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

For well we ought look back upon the day

When Israel descended into bane.

The temple may have stood on grand display

But all the wise men thought with half their brain.

America was founded under God

And while our hearts inclined our works were great,

But now our worshiping is largely flawed

And all our understanding obfuscate.

The fall of this Republic’s drawing nigh

Unless there is revival in the land.

‘Turn back unto the Lord!’ should be our cry,

‘One nation under God!’ should be our brand.

We’ve fallen into ruin, we’re on the brink.

If we don’t turn to God we’ll surely sink.

9-3-15 Here We Go

⁹ That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

¹⁰ Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

¹¹ Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Isaiah 30:9-11

The leaders of the earth are fraudulent;

And any talk of God is shouted down.

The reprobate advance the cause they flaunt

While running God’s own children in the ground.

The day has come upon us, rife with sin,

But Christ is our Commander – we will win.

7-27-15 Dumb

³² As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

³³ And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

The Devil prowls the earth with rancid breath,

Befouling souls with lies and hate and pride;

His simple goal: to lure us all to death,

To bring us down with him and there abide.

 

When Satan wraps his talons round our throat,

He robs us of our hope and leaves us dumb.

But there is One of whom the prophets wrote,

Who casts all demons out and leaves them mum.

 

When we have faith in Jesus, we reach out

And put our hand in His, then with that touch,

Our lives are changed forever with a shout!

Our tongues are then set free to praise Him much.

 

If you can’t say you’re saved and glory bound,

You’ll find your voice in Christ a loving sound.

9-30-14 God’s Got Your Back

God knows the trials you face from day to day;

His spirit dwells within you all the time.

Be confident in all you do and say,

For God is always with you so sublime.

No need to fear, no need to run and hide,

The Lord has gone ahead to light your path.

No matter what transpires he’s by your side;

Whatever interferes will face His wrath.

The God of Israel has got your back,

So speak in confidence with truth and fire.

Don’t worry that your foes will soon attack;

God knows who is the thief, the thug, the liar.

Don’t worry, God is with you in your trial;

His presence makes your trouble all worthwhile.
