1-23-16 One Thousand Horns

fractured church

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The body of the Lord should work as one,
For schisms and divisions work against
The gospel and the work that should be done
To bring the lost sheep home who were dispensed.
If we’re to be one body and one mind
We ought to preach and teach the selfsame thing.
It does no good if we are misaligned
Like walking when one foot is in a sling.
There is but one true Savior, Jesus Christ;
His words and actions clearly lead the way.
His awesome love for us was well sufficed;
He told us to repent and then obey.
If there’s one thousand horns in battle blown,
Who knows which way to victory is known?
REMEMBER: These days it is SO important to understand and follow the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
1-18-16 Known by His Fruit
pickingfruit
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
Matthew 12:33 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

To know a man just watch his words and deeds,

For he can’t hide the nature of his heart.

An evil sort’s revealed by his misdeeds;

A poisoned well its harm will sure impart.

A fruit will show what kind of tree it’s from;

You cannot harvest olives from the ground.

Guitarists bare their talent when they thrum,

And you can tell a good one from his sound.

True Christians will exhibit Christ within;

The body of their works His presence shows.

They cannot be successful in their sin;

The essence of His truth and love still flows.

The blind can tell a fruit by taste and feel.

See Jesus with His works in you reveal.

~~~~~~~~~~~
REMEMBER: Jesus lives within you. Get out of the way so He can live through you.
12-4-15 Fount of Your Ways
living water
For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
Job 34:11 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

FOUNT OF YOUR WAYS

If you are turning daily toward the One,

Your mind and words and hands reflect His love.

There is no question what His grace has done;

There is no doubt at all what you’re part of.

Good deeds themselves does not a good man make;

God knows the kind of water that you drink.

You may in all your works sure take the cake

But if you guzzle sin you still will sink.

Through grace you’re born in Christ, by faith you live;

Your acts, though meager, show a water pure,

And from this living fountainhead you give, (John 7:38)

And it will multiply and long endure.

God will not judge a man by works alone. (Ephesians 2:9)

The source of nourishment will soon be known.

10-02-15 These Stumbling Times

dark times

10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:10-11 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
There is no question these are darker times
Than all the days this world has ever known.
The moral structure failed, there are more crimes,
The stench of sin makes all the earth to groan.
There’s so much hate we see it in the air;
The people that you pass won’t look at you.
Sweet life has lost it’s value; most don’t care,
As if we’ve all gone blind and can’t see through.
The only hope we have is Jesus Christ;
He lights the way with nothing less than love,
And here the grace of God is so sufficed;
Believe in Him and see the way above.
It’s not so hard to love our brother when
We have the perfect light of Christ within.
9-30-15 What He Has Done
gods touch
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
Isaiah 12:5 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

Behold the many things the Lord has done:

He made the universe and all within;

He came to earth the essence of the Son;

He’s offered us salvation from our sin;

He had the prophets write His holy word;

He gave us with His love such blessed grace;

He promised us He’d come back undeterred;

He’s gifted us the Spirit to embrace;

He loves us more than we will ever know;

He formed us in His image from the start;

He carries us with Him and won’t let go;

He’s conquered death and hell; He’s done His part.

The things the Lord has done are excellent!

The earth and all that’s in it give assent!

9-1-15 On Speaking in Tongues

tongues

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

1 Corinthians 14:2-4 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s nothing wrong with speaking unknown tongues,
Unless you’re teaching Sunday School in church.
God gave you vocal chords and also lungs
To worship Him, not leave us in the lurch.
The Spirit speaks the truth into the heart,
And sometimes whispers secrets unrevealed.
Such mysteries remain so from the start
Unless a translator is there to yield. 1
If you’re to lead your brethren into war
It’s so important they know what you mean.
An unknown call in battle they’ll ignore, 2
So speak commands that’s understood and keen. 3
An unknown tongue’s for you and you alone.
If you’re to prophesy, let it be known.
8-28-15 Family Ties
The Family of God by Nathan Greene
32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
Mark 3:32-35 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

No matter where you go you’re not alone:

The greatest network in the world exists,

The best connections that the world has known;

The family of Christ are in your midst.

O what a joy to meet a stranger here

Then find out she’s your sister in the Lord!

The loving Spirit linking us so dear

Is much too strong to ever be ignored.

This family of God transcending flesh

All find a common kinship to the cross.

The instant you submit to Christ you mesh,

One body in His Spirit knits across.

My brothers and my sisters, you are loved

More dearly than myself as my beloved.

6-8-15 Through a Glass Darkly

dark-glass

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The evening crowd is gone, and streets are dark
And in our joyful state we roam the night.
Ahead the temple of the Lord we mark
And soon peer in it’s windows with our sight.
We think the glass is dark, but it’s our eyes;
We think we know it all, but it’s in part.
Yet O the wonders seen when we grow wise!
Yet O the things we’ll know when heaven smart!
We journey far to see a lion close;
The final twenty yards will make us sweat.
The glass is dark until the light draws close;
You know in part until the Savior’s met.
When we’ve the mind of Christ through Love and Grace
A servant we become then, face to face.
5-20-15 Glory
alaska landscape
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Isaiah 6:2-3 KJV
            ~~~~~~~~~~~

Imagine standing fore the throne of God,

With seraphims above it shouting praise.

Our best envisionings would still be flawed;

The mind cannot conceive the slightest gaze.

But here we are surrounded by our things,

While just outside the door the world is wide.

So full of God’s great glory nature sings,

And every grain of earth He did provide.

In Eden and again when all’s complete,

The Earth in all her splendor will be known,

Yet even now her beauty’s so replete

God’s glory can be found in leaf and stone.

Right now we can’t see God upon His throne,

But take a walk outdoors, His glory’s shown.

4-28-15 Working Faith

working man

A man may work in sweat both night and day,

A beneficial fellow great in deeds.

If he does not believe Christ all the way,

He’s like the Pharisee with knotty beads.

You can’t have faith in Jesus and stand still,

For when He lives in you, you have to serve.

Faith is an inner truth transcending will

That’s known by outer acts you can observe.

Performance may not show a faithful man,

But Godly men, in faith, don’t brag or boast.

The man who says “No faith can beat my plan,”

Will die, while men of faith live past the post.

Now show me works that faith did not begin,

I’ll show you faith by works that’s born within.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Yea, a man may say,
Thou hast faith, and I have works:
shew me thy faith without thy works,
and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:18 KJV
