12-4-15 Fount of Your Ways

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

Job 34:11 KJV

FOUNT OF YOUR WAYS

If you are turning daily toward the One,

Your mind and words and hands reflect His love.

There is no question what His grace has done;

There is no doubt at all what you’re part of.

Good deeds themselves does not a good man make;

God knows the kind of water that you drink.

You may in all your works sure take the cake

But if you guzzle sin you still will sink.

Through grace you’re born in Christ, by faith you live;

Your acts, though meager, show a water pure,

And from this living fountainhead you give, ^{(John 7:38)}

And it will multiply and long endure.

God will not judge a man by works alone. ^{(Ephesians 2:9)}

The source of nourishment will soon be known.

5-11-15 Spread the Word

And as ye go, preach, saying,

The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 10:7 KJV

The time has come, the time is here, my friend,

To share the news of Jesus to all men,

And when you hear some mock Him, then defend,

For He will stand for you and them, amen.

The Savior is returning, be of haste,

And spread the Word as if He’s coming now,

Then bring them to the cross where sin was placed,

Where Jesus died for them with humble vow.

Now, be like Christ and preach to all you meet,

Pour out the living water for their soul.

If you bring one to Jesus on the street,

It will be worth the effort as a whole.

Don’t be so shy, recall how you were freed;

How someone let the Spirit take the lead.

9-8-14 Green Pastures and Still Waters

My shepherd leads me to the perfect place

Where rocky mountainside gives way to lea,

And there amid the clover of His grace

He knows that I will never go astray.

The water of His love is pure and still;

No babbling brook to make me start or stress.

Ev’ry time I drink I get my fill;

This living water’s never to excess.

My faith is led into His righteousness,

Invigorating both my heart and soul.

Away from worldly cares I convalesce

And rest until His love has made me whole.

            The Lord will make me lie in pasture green

            And lead me to still water so serene.
