2-12-16 Only One

man in praise

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

Psalm 118:8 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
Whenever you put confidence in man,
Don’t get your hopes much higher than the ground,
For he will disappoint more often than
A lighter without fluid that’s been found.
A broken cane can’t give you much support,
A shadow offers little in relief.
There’s only One will never sell you short,
There’s only One will never cause you grief.
When you lay all your trust up in the Lord,
There’s nothing left for faith in mortal man.
Serenity and peace is your reward
When you place hope in God’s own perfect plan.
Begin right now: surrender to the Lord.
Entrust Him with your life: you’ll be restored.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

2-9-16 Hear Hear

Hearing_God

And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

Mark 4:24 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
Attend to all the teachings of the Lord,
For they’re designed to bring you home to God.
Be diligent that what you learn is stored,
Then share them with all men near and abroad.
The more that you distribute of the Word,
A greater portion of the Word’s revealed.
Attune your heart to living what you’ve heard;
You’ll find the harvest brings a greater yield.
The Holy Spirit leads you to the truth,
Then tells you what it means if you just hear.
You do not have to be a brilliant sleuth;
Just listen with your heart and all is clear.
The more you give the more you shall be given.
This economic lesson’s Jesus-driven.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: The more you love unconditionally, substantially more love will return to you.

1-5-16 Time to Confess

confessing

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 10:32-33 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
As much as you confess you should believe
That Jesus is your Lord and Savior, too,
For words themselves are easy to achieve,
But let your being shout your love anew.
Your silence is denial as profuse
As claiming Jesus was then just a man.
Lip service is itself a lame excuse;
Now be a true believer, not a fan.
A Christian is in truth a ‘Little Christ,’
A living, breathing representative.
You should be one with He who sacrificed;
He took on all your sins so you may live.
Confess to all He’s Christ, He’ll confess you.
Deny Him and He will deny you, too.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: Ask Jesus to give you courage, strength and boldness. He certainly will.

11-11-15 A Child of Light

light itself

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Ephesians 5:8 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
A CHILD OF LIGHT
There was a time when you were lost and blind,
Not only dark, but darkness, void of light.
You may have been so brilliant and refined,
But in the spirit you were starless night.
Then Jesus knocked upon your darkened door;
You answered, and the Light came rushing in.
The Holy Spirit knocked you to the floor;
The blood of Jesus covered all your sin.
Since then the light of Christ does shine from you,
And now you are a child of light itself.
No darkness left within; those days are through.
No longer blind, you’re seeing God Himself.
You are a child of light, now walk that way.
Let Christ illuminate your life today.
10-31-15 Follow Him
godshand
And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
Luke 5:11 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

The lives of Peter, Andrew, James and John

Transformed when Jesus said ‘Come follow Me.’

How can someone refuse when spirit’s drawn,

Just like a sailor’s hunger for the sea?

There comes a moment in each person’s life

When love demands you leave it all behind.

That call of soul that cuts you like a knife;

That death of self to which you were confined.

The Savior beckons – all else disappears;

The world that you once knew just falls away.

The life before was measured once in years

But now this moment is the only way.

Drop all that you are doing. Follow Him.

If your ship moves too slow, jump in and swim.

10-20-15 Unclean Spirits

Unclean Spirit

23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

Mark 1:23-27 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
An unclean spirit likes to sow discord
And seeks to own the weakest mind around.
Such fights and arguments are their reward;
Where trouble’s stirred this spirit can be found.
Unless the Holy Spirit fills your heart
Ask Christ to guard your soul or you’ll be next.
They spot a child of God and then will start
To try to tear you down and leave you vexed.
The Savior lives within so call His name!
The Holy Ghost will lead you through this scene.
He might have you rebuke it out in shame
Or lead the man possessed to Christ to clean.
You’re led to where you’re needed most of all.
Let Christ stay in control and heed His call.
