11-25-15 Even So

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

EVEN SO

Our Father God sent Jesus to the earth

To save those who believe upon His name,

To bring about such miracles of worth,

There is no doubt at all upon His claim.

Our Father sent His Son to do His will,

To sacrifice His life to save His friends,

To take upon Him all our sins until

His blood could serve to cover and to cleanse.

And now the Savior sends disciples out

To save those who believe upon His name,

To show all that we meet there is no doubt

That Jesus died for them – that’s why He came.

If God sent down His Son to save mankind,

Are you not now His child and so inclined?

11-2-15 The Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound

Isaiah 61:1 KJV

The Spirit of the Lord is with you now,

The same upon Isaiah and in Christ;

When you called Jesus Savior to avow

The Holy Ghost became within you spliced.

The Comforter that Jesus spoke about,

The power that brought Him back from the dead

Can work through you, of that there is no doubt,

To preach the gospel to the meek ahead.

The Holy Ghost can bind a broken heart,

Bring liberty to captives bound in sin.

Obedience to Jesus sets apart,

And love will let the miracles begin.

Be clear, it isn’t you that does these things;

The Spirit of the Lord the Savior brings.

9-23-15 Side by Side

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

When Eve and Adam lived in Eden land,

There were no predators, no blood was spilled.

The glory of the Lord was full and grand,

And everything that lived was love fulfilled.

Then sin arrived, corrupting all it touched

And flesh once sacred now became just meat.

The earth was soaked in blood and death was clutched,

And man became the worst to kill and eat.

The Son of God was born to bring God’s love;

His miracles wrought Eden bit by bit,

And when the Lord returns from up above

The Garden fills the world and sin will quit.

The lion and the lamb lay side by side,

And childlike love will be the earth’s new guide.

6-30-15 In Truth and Deed

My little children,

let us not love in word,

neither in tongue;

but in deed and in truth.

To love with words alone is like a bowl

So finely made without a bite within.

A love with empty words soon takes its toll;

A promised rain will starve the flower thin.

An act of love speaks volumes by itself;

In service is the truth that can’t be told.

A dictionary sits upon the shelf;

The Living Word does miracles so bold.

To minister to others is sublime,

So do all that you can in truth and deed.

These words upon your screen is just a rhyme;

True poetry is helping those in need.

Enough with words! Your vocal chords can break.

The best love in the world’s the love you make.

¹⁰ To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

¹¹ But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

¹² For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

The Spirit gifts one saint with wisdom deep,

And gives another knowledge straight and strong.

The Spirit grants another faith to keep;

He knows just where His attributes belong.

The Spirit gives one pow’rs to heal the sick,

Another miracles to show the way.

The truth through prophecy to one He picks;

These gifts the Holy Spirit does convey.

He gives to one discernment of the heart,

Reveals the gift of tongues another speaks.

He then lets one interpret tongues apart;

They all are of one Spirit, but unique.

So many diff’rent members, though as one,

We all are of one body of the Son.

When you are saved by Christ’s atoning blood,

You then become much more than family;

The Spirit enters you just like a flood

And works on you uniquely by degree.

Just as the body is comprised of parts,

Each part designed to function for the whole,

Yet none can long survive when pulled apart

But thrives with all the others in their role.

The Holy Spirit knows your aptitude

And fashions you to serve in harmony.

It may not always be what you pursued

Before you came to Christ and was set free.

The gift the Spirit lays upon your heart

You’ll find in time was perfect from the start.

10-2-14 Speak

In Syria are Christians being killed

For not converting to the Muslim view,

And in the USA the schools are filled

With kids that don’t know Jesus to be true.

We didn’t see our Savior killed that day;

We didn’t see Him rise up from the tomb,

But all we see and hear He made this way

So we may know the Truth and not assume.

From prayer are miracles you can’t deny;

You’ve heard the Holy Spirit speak to you.

Speak boldly of these things though men may try

To kill the gospel and your freedom, too.

You know that what you’ve seen and heard is right;

Be brave! Defend the gospel truth forthright.

7-31-14 Believe, My Friend

Believe on Jesus now, I beg you please,

For your eternal life depends on it!

The miracles He did, but not just these,

He lived for you and never once did quit.

Believe, my friend, for He believed in you

Enough to come down here to show the way!

He took upon Himself your sins, it’s true;

He bled and died for you one awful day.

Believe the words of Jesus, this I plead!

The things He said He heard from God above.

If you believe on Him and then concede,

You will be born again in perfect love!

Believe and live forever, O my friend!

Believe on Jesus Christ, in Him depend.
