11-5-15 Tonight

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:12 KJV

Tonight you must stay up all night in prayer,

For if you put it off you never will.

I promise you, beloved, if you dare,

A different soul will feel the morning chill.

When you’re alone with God don’t fall asleep.

He’s waited all your life for this one night.

If you’re sincere then be prepared to weep;

You’ll see how rare the times you’ve got it right.

Pray for your friends, your foes, your family,

And take your time, you can’t get too involved.

Christ prayed for you, that you might one day see;

He interceded that you’ll be absolved.

Stay up tonight and pray; it’s worth the time.

The Holy Ghost will show God’s love sublime.

12-7-14 Nowhere

Your spirit dwells within my blood and breath,

And binds the fabric of the universe.

You guide my birth and hold my hand in death,

And every moment in between traverse.

Your omnipresence guides the wind of change;

You mark the path of elephant and ant.

You move the atom, set the mountain range,

You make the tree frog peep, the monk to chant.

Where could I go to get away from You?

You’re even in my very soul and mind.

No matter where I run You are there, too.

There is no place to go that you can’t find.

Why would I ever want to run at all?

My God, forever more You are my all!

8-15-14 All Things Are Possible

A single ‘if’ prevents a miracle,

And lack of faith defeats what’s possible.

Such unbelief turns trust satirical

And makes the feasible impossible.

Your faith need not be large to do all things;

In fact, a faith in just yourself will fail.

Put all your hope in Christ your Lord and King,

For He makes things come true on any scale.

The Lord can help you with your unbelief;

Cry out to Christ, confess your doubts to Him.

A mustard seed of faith will bring relief

And fill your cup of love above the rim.

            A mountain can be moved into the sea;

            Put all your trust in Jesus, then you’ll see.
