12-28-15 Lost and Found

¹² How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

¹³ And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

You wandered lost within the wilderness

Before you even knew that you were lost,

And by the time you came to some distress

In jagged rocks and winter winds that tossed,

The Savior had pursued you all along

With such a love that can’t be full explained.

His outstretched hand was there your whole lifelong;

His mark upon your heart so deep ingrained,

And when you finally fall into His arms,

He’ll put you on His shoulders safe and strong,

To bring you Home where nothing hurts or harms,

Rejoicing all the way with cheer and song.

O can you hear Him calling out your name?

Just put your hand in His. That’s why He came.

4-21-15 Have Faith

Have faith when all the roads for you are closed,

When all the avenues you’ve tried have failed.

Your faith in Christ will have new ways exposed,

Will open boulevards where none prevailed.

Have faith when everyone has told you No,

When time and time again you face defeat.

Your faith in Christ will help success to grow,

Will show you how to win when you compete.

Have faith when hope is low and all seems lost,

When others walk away in dark despair.

Your faith in Christ will stand at any cost,

Will give you victory when none would dare.

Have faith when even you begin to doubt;

Your faith in Christ makes mountains move about.

1-28-15 Celebration!

When you are freed by Jesus from all sin

And come down off the cross a new born man,

The joy that floods your heart will then begin

Like Jews from Babylon that homeward ran.

The chains of slavery are now removed;

You climb from darkness to a warming light.

The promise of salvation has been proved

For now you’re led with peace and fresh delight.

It seems the very hills sing out in glee,

And all the birds praise Jesus with one voice:

“Another soul is saved! Now glory be!”

The Holy Spirit swells and we rejoice.

That rustling sound you hear is clapping trees;

The news of your redemption’s on the breeze!

10-4-14 Everlasting

Before the mountains reached into the sky,

And prior to the oceans cold and deep,

Your everlasting spirit moved on by,

Abiding ere the Earth its presence keep.

You formed the stars, you shaped the universe,

And lived before the ancient mark of time;

The first primordial dust You dispersed,

With just a word You made it all sublime.

You were, You are and will forever be

The author of all life and so much more;

Were ev’ry human mind then so set free

We wouldn’t comprehend us anymore.

O God, You’ve always been, You always will,

And I will worship You forever still.
