1-6-16 Believe in Jesus

⁵³ And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. ⁵⁴ And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, ⁵⁵ And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. ⁵⁶ And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

While Jesus walked the earth He healed the sick,

And has been healing sickness since that time.

When people heard him ’round they gathered quick;

His name should do that now in our lifetime.

We don’t need scores of healers ‘cross the land

In vast revivals pitching tents in town.

We don’t need mega churches gold and grand,

Announcers telling cripples “Come on down!”

The only thing you need is to believe

That Christ can heal your broken heart and more.

A simple faith in Him will soon achieve

The healing that you need and cry out for.

The Savior hears you calling out His name;

Reach out to Him – you’ll never be the same.

Saints persecuted, killed on every path.

The followers of Satan run amok.

The leaders of the world are put to shame,

While Christians everywhere die in the muck.

Arise, O Lord! Bring death to all our foes;

They murder us with raw impunity.

The armies of the world will not oppose;

O hear our cries, O Lord! Please hear this plea!

You are the Mighty God! None dare resist.

Lift up Your hand for us; our prayers persist!

1-1-16 Please Let Him In

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

O sinner, hear Him knocking at your door!

The hour is late; don’t let Him pass you by!

Please let Him in; He’s who you’re looking for!

The beating of your heart means He’s nearby!

O sinner, hear Him calling out your name!

Do you not recognize your Savior’s voice?

Please let Him in; you’ll never be the same!

Just open up your heart and you’ll rejoice!

O sinner, Jesus died that you might live!

When He was on the cross He thought of you!

Please let Him in with all His love to give!

Don’t let another moment pass you through!

O sinner, drink with Christ His cup of bliss!

Please let Him in! Eternity’s His kiss!

12-30-15 The Party Scene

And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

Isaiah 5:12 KJV

It seems as if the party scene is cool:

The thumping bass is felt down in your bones,

But if you don’t go with them you’re a fool;

Your name won’t be a contact on their phones.

The wings and pizza make up quite a feast;

The beer flows freely, so do all the drugs,

But they don’t know the Lord, they serve the Beast;

You mention Jesus, all you get are shrugs.

Those partyers are lost unless they yield

To Someone greater than their Insta friends.

If they don’t turn to Christ their fates are sealed.

Keep trying to get through; God’s grace transcends.

Don’t get caught up- you’ll surely get dragged down.

If you share Christ with them they may not drown.

REMEMBER: Don’t get caught up in the party scene. To some of them, you might be the closest thing to Christ they’ll ever know.

12-28-15 Lost and Found

¹² How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

¹³ And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Matthew 18:12-13 KJV

You wandered lost within the wilderness

Before you even knew that you were lost,

And by the time you came to some distress

In jagged rocks and winter winds that tossed,

The Savior had pursued you all along

With such a love that can’t be full explained.

His outstretched hand was there your whole lifelong;

His mark upon your heart so deep ingrained,

And when you finally fall into His arms,

He’ll put you on His shoulders safe and strong,

To bring you Home where nothing hurts or harms,

Rejoicing all the way with cheer and song.

O can you hear Him calling out your name?

Just put your hand in His. That’s why He came.

12-19-15 In Jesus’ Name

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

IN JESUS’ NAME

We give to God our every gratitude;

Without Him we would not be here today.

He gave His firstborn Son with rectitude

So we could be His children, too, and stay.

The sacrifice Christ made has set us free,

And now we live by faith for all He’s done.

It is through Christ we go; He is the key

To open Heaven’s door, then Home we run.

A prayer is ended thus: “In Jesus’ name,”

For He is now the source of our new life,

The living advocate of all acclaim,

The High Priest of our soul in glory rife.

Give thanks to God our Father for all things,

In Jesus’ name, in whom our hope now springs.

REMEMBER: When you give thanks to God in the name of Jesus, your heart stretches to hold more of the Holy Spirit.

12-16-15 Born of a Virgin

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14 KJV

BORN OF A VIRGIN

Conception is a miracle from God

No matter what the circumstance may be.

A virgin birth, though, that is something odd;

It’s physically impossible, you see.

But nothing is impossible to God,

Who made the universe in just one week.

A child born of a virgin’s not a fraud

If God Himself’s the Father; that’s mystique.

The virgin Mary bore the Son of God;

His name is Jesus, and much more indeed.

The Savior of mankind we all should laud:

Immanuel means “God with us,” take heed!

Christ was both fully man and fully God.

Whatever name you call Him, thus be awed.

REMEMBER: All life is precious. Imagine how precious Jesus was to the Father, yet He loved you so much He gave His own begotten Son as a sacrifice for your sins.

11-25-15 Even So

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

EVEN SO

Our Father God sent Jesus to the earth

To save those who believe upon His name,

To bring about such miracles of worth,

There is no doubt at all upon His claim.

Our Father sent His Son to do His will,

To sacrifice His life to save His friends,

To take upon Him all our sins until

His blood could serve to cover and to cleanse.

And now the Savior sends disciples out

To save those who believe upon His name,

To show all that we meet there is no doubt

That Jesus died for them – that’s why He came.

If God sent down His Son to save mankind,

Are you not now His child and so inclined?

10-27-15 Little Children

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

1 John 2:12 KJV

If there is any doubt of God’s good grace,

Or that His mercy moves abundantly,

Then look no further than a child’s face

To know that in the name of Christ he’s free.

We all are born in sin and can’t escape ¹

Unless we give to Jesus our whole lives, ²

But in His sovereign mercy God may drape

Forgiveness to a child whose death arrives.

There is an age we are accountable,

When we so choose to sin or turn to Christ.

Before that sin is insurmountable;

A baby can’t avoid the awful price. ³

The mercy of the Lord can so extend

To cover little children without end.

10-20-15 Unclean Spirits

²³ And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

²⁴ Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

²⁶ And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

²⁷ And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

An unclean spirit likes to sow discord

And seeks to own the weakest mind around.

Such fights and arguments are their reward;

Where trouble’s stirred this spirit can be found.

Unless the Holy Spirit fills your heart

Ask Christ to guard your soul or you’ll be next.

They spot a child of God and then will start

To try to tear you down and leave you vexed.

The Savior lives within so call His name!

The Holy Ghost will lead you through this scene.

He might have you rebuke it out in shame

Or lead the man possessed to Christ to clean.

You’re led to where you’re needed most of all.

Let Christ stay in control and heed His call.
