1-25-16 Millstone

MillStones

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:6 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
Whoever does offend a child of God
With hateful, hurtful words that’s evil drawn,
Or cause to stumble on the path he trod,
Or make his testimony be withdrawn,
Whoever leads away My sheep by guile,
To fool him into dropping his belief,
Or persecute him else by harm or trial,
Or bring My new disciple into grief,
It would be better for that wicked one
To hang a heavy stone around his neck
And jump into the sea to then be done,
Than cause My little one be harmed a speck.
Before you lead My little lamb astray,
You might just drown yourself and float away.
REMEMBER: Treat the young in Christ with tenderness and love and proper discipleship.
11-12-15 Lukewarm
lukewarm
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:15-16 KJV
LUKEWARM
If you’re to be a Christian, do your best!
Don’t claim to follow Christ but wander ’round.
Your Bible gathers dust while you attest
To study scriptures daily so profound.
You wear a sliver cross around your neck,
But gossip, cuss and lie for all to see.
You smile at church and tithe with some bad check;
You blew it all on Friday’s gambling spree.
It would be better were you ignorant;
At least a heathen knows just where he stands.
If you’re to be a Christian let’s be blunt:
You’d better ask for help; your time’s at hand.
It’s never good to be a lukewarm saint;
He’ll spew you from His mouth without constraint.
7-7-15 Thirst
desert
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah:
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee
in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is
Psalm 63:1 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

If you would seek the presence of the Lord,

You must be thirsty like a desert man,

Bereft and wandering, an empty gourd,

A single minded need without a plan.

When you awake, have God be your first thought,

So hungry He consumes you heart and soul

Until your neck is thin, your stomach taut,

Your tongue so thick with thirst and black as coal.

You cannot find the Lord while on your duff;

You must engage the world, but be aware:

When He is all you need, then sure enough,

You’ll find Him all around; He’s everywhere.

The intellect itself cannot find God;

You search with your whole life without facade.
