6-28-15 The Children of Wrath

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

The world is filled with sin up to the brim

And we think we are outside looking in.

I tell you, brother, things are looking grim,

But don’t pretend you’re perfect in your win!

Instead of pointing fingers at the rest,

Remember you were where they are right now.

Right now it is God’s grace that has you blessed;

Without it you’d have hell to pay, and how!

You may have been a step from reprobate

When you chose to accept the Savior’s hand.

Each day such people cross right by your gate.

Please give them love, it may be their last stand!

Don’t be judgmental, be compassionate.

Without Christ’s cleansing blood you’d be unfit.

6-15-15 Heart to Heart

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

To be like Christ take on His yoke and start,

Align yourself to Him in work and word,

Then as you learn the Savior’s perfect heart,

You’ll find that Jesus kept his wants deferred.

So meek and lowly, Christ was set apart,

Obeying what our Father bade Him do,

For He and God were one in mind and heart

With such agape love and selfless view.

To be like Jesus you must e’er impart

To understand that He is in control.

He bought you with His blood, now heart to heart,

And you shall yet find rest unto your soul.

To learn of Jesus you must soon take part,

To give and share with others heart to heart.

4-21-15 Have Faith

Have faith when all the roads for you are closed,

When all the avenues you’ve tried have failed.

Your faith in Christ will have new ways exposed,

Will open boulevards where none prevailed.

Have faith when everyone has told you No,

When time and time again you face defeat.

Your faith in Christ will help success to grow,

Will show you how to win when you compete.

Have faith when hope is low and all seems lost,

When others walk away in dark despair.

Your faith in Christ will stand at any cost,

Will give you victory when none would dare.

Have faith when even you begin to doubt;

Your faith in Christ makes mountains move about.

be it unto thee even as thou wilt.

2-11-15 Simply Said

If you keep God’s commandments it will tell;

Let love for others grow until it’s whole;

Believe in Jesus, friend, and He will dwell,

His Spirit and His Love within your soul.

Put faith in Christ as Saviour and your King,

And as you go like Him you’ll grow to be;

In servitude, and with compassion bring

The gospel of salvation’s guarantee.

So as you dwell in Christ and He in you,

His Presence will be known within your heart.

There will be no denying this is true:

He’ll guide your way and never will depart.

            Remember God’s commandments simply said:

            Believe in Christ, His Son; give love widespread.

Temper, Temper

If you can’t curb your temper or your tongue

How can you be entrusted with the Word?

The devil will provoke you with his dung

Until you lose control with anger stirred.

You can’t control what others say and do,

And none can make you feel a certain way.

With prayer and discipline you can get to

Restraint in what you do and what you say.

Increase your love for God until it glows,

Til humbleness replaces selfish ways.

The spirit of the Lord both thrives and grows

Within an attitude of faith and praise.

Compassion cools the fire before it burns,

And patience settles in when temper turns.

7-20-14 Selfish and Selfless

Sometimes you act so selfish, this is true,

And no one else dare matter more than that.

You’ll have your way, and nothing else will do;

Admit it, you can act just like a brat.

You are the most important person that you know;

If someone else you haven’t met them yet.

If there is any hope for you to grow

You must place yourself last with no regret.

Try valuing another more than you;

In fact, treat others with a servant’s heart,

And with humility let love come through

As if they’re your Beloved from the start.

Let God provide your ev’ry want and need;

Consider others first in thought and deed.
