10-1-15 Heart Burn

burning-heart

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Luke 24:32 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The fire of the Lord should burn your heart,
And if it doesn’t, you’re not close enough.
You have to be as one, not just take part;
Communion with the Lord is sturdy stuff
Consume the Word, that fiery flame of truth
Until the Holy Spirit sears your soul.
Remember all the passion of your youth?
This burning makes the past a winter stroll.
If you’re afraid the fire has gone out,
Just breathe the name of Jesus and repeat.
You’ll feel the heat begin, there is no doubt;
His Presence is a blaze that won’t deplete.
You know the Savior’s walking next to you;
His love is burning in your heart so true.
9-30-15 What He Has Done
gods touch
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
Isaiah 12:5 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

Behold the many things the Lord has done:

He made the universe and all within;

He came to earth the essence of the Son;

He’s offered us salvation from our sin;

He had the prophets write His holy word;

He gave us with His love such blessed grace;

He promised us He’d come back undeterred;

He’s gifted us the Spirit to embrace;

He loves us more than we will ever know;

He formed us in His image from the start;

He carries us with Him and won’t let go;

He’s conquered death and hell; He’s done His part.

The things the Lord has done are excellent!

The earth and all that’s in it give assent!

9-7-58 Made by His Hands

miracle

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

Psalm 119:73 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The Lord created every part of you;
That little sparked conception was His kiss.
Your life began that moment, rare and true;
There’s nothing more mysterious than this!
God made you in His image: wonderful;
He fashioned you with love and tenderness.
No matter how you look you’re beautiful:
There is no part of you He didn’t bless.
Now pray for understanding you may learn
All God’s commandments meant to bring you home.
The longing in your heart that makes you yearn
Is Spirit guiding you so you don’t roam.
God gave you life eternal through His Son
Who bled and died that you may be as one.
6-15-15 Heart to Heart
yoke
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:29 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

To be like Christ take on His yoke and start,

Align yourself to Him in work and word,

Then as you learn the Savior’s perfect heart,

You’ll find that Jesus kept his wants deferred.

So meek and lowly, Christ was set apart,

Obeying what our Father bade Him do,

For He and God were one in mind and heart

With such agape love and selfless view.

To be like Jesus you must e’er impart

To understand that He is in control.

He bought you with His blood, now heart to heart,

And you shall yet find rest unto your soul.

To learn of Jesus you must soon take part,

To give and share with others heart to heart.

6-8-15 Through a Glass Darkly

dark-glass

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The evening crowd is gone, and streets are dark
And in our joyful state we roam the night.
Ahead the temple of the Lord we mark
And soon peer in it’s windows with our sight.
We think the glass is dark, but it’s our eyes;
We think we know it all, but it’s in part.
Yet O the wonders seen when we grow wise!
Yet O the things we’ll know when heaven smart!
We journey far to see a lion close;
The final twenty yards will make us sweat.
The glass is dark until the light draws close;
You know in part until the Savior’s met.
When we’ve the mind of Christ through Love and Grace
A servant we become then, face to face.
5-23-15 Grace-Full Gifts
stronger-together
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:6-8 KJV
            ~~~~~~~~~~~

We all have talents given us by grace

According to the nature of our soul;

Just as the body has each part in place

That has a special function toward the whole.

The ones with prophesy speak truth so bold,

With ministry to aid the poor and weak;

The teachers lay the doctrine out as gold,

Exhorters urge, advise and so critique.

To those who give do with simplicity,

And those that rule are earnest in their care;

The merciful attend the anxious plea,

And everyone above immersed in prayer.

The gifts that God has given us to use

Should be to serve the Savior, not abuse.

5-15-15 On His Side

in his name

38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

Mark 9:38-40 KJV

            ~~~~~~~~~~~
When you arrive in Heaven one fine day
You just might be surprised at who you find.
There will be those you thought had gone astray,
Believing doctrine you once knew was blind.
There’s one prerequisite to step inside,
And it’s not what you know, but rather who.
If you let Jesus in your heart abide
You will be counted then among the few.
Accept Him as your Lord and Savior now
And He will guide you where you need to be.
If you work in His name He will endow
The things that you will need to set men free.
Don’t tell a child of God to soon depart,
For he that’s not against is on our part.
