2-16-16 Give and Take

Druck

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Luke 8:18 KJV

This is a warning to you lukewarm soul

Who merely ponders Jesus on a whim:

You say you are a Christian, play the role.

You think you’ll skate on in; your chance is grim.

If you will truly give your life to Christ

And use with grace the gifts He gives to you,

The salt you are will then be double spiced;

The love you have, much more will you accrue.

If you believe that you have got it made,

Your show of knowledge now will disappear.

What little faith you claim will soon be swayed;

Your mediocre worship won’t cohere.

Be careful how you hear: from heart or head.

The one will find the Lord, the other’s dead.

~~~~~~~~~~~
REMEMBER: You cannot fake your way into the kingdom of heaven. If you don’t think you’re saved, you’re likely not. Go to the cross right now. You’ll gain a lot.
11-27-15 Return Unto Your Rest
under the stars
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
Psalm 116:7 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

When all the work and play of day is done,

The dishes washed, the children laid in bed,

Reflect upon the struggles and the fun,

The things you didn’t do or done instead,

Return unto your rest, my weary soul:

The Lord has dealt so bountifully with you.

His grace has carried you from role to role,

His love a shining light the whole day through.

Despite your tribulation He’s been here

Within the very center of your heart.

You’ll never be alone, no need to fear;

Relax, my soul: the Savior won’t depart.

Tomorrow comes too soon; for now just rest.

The stars are bright tonight and you are blessed.

12-20-14 Cleave to That Which is Good

father_son

Adhere to all that’s good and wise and true

And you will walk alone more times than not.

Do not let others tell you what to do

If it runs counter to the things Christ taught.

In all the waking moments of your day

Be grateful with a heart that’s full of love.

Conduct yourself upright in work or play

And be sincere to man and God above.

Avoid all things that compromise the Word

For they will lead you off the narrow way.

When evil tempts you still be undeterred;

With Jesus on your side you won’t dismay.

Stay full of love, let Jesus be your guide.

Trust Him alone, He’s always by your side.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Let love be without dissimulation (Deceit).
Abhor that which is evil;
cleave to that which is good.
Romans 12:9 KJV
