Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

They can’t defend themselves against their doom.

Defenseless, fragile souls without a choice,

A gift of God within their mother’s womb.

It doesn’t matter how they came to be,

These innocent and tender hosts of life.

They can’t be blamed for being; why do we

Think we’re a judge and jury with a knife?

Speak out for those who cannot vocalize!

If you are pregnant, let the baby live!

There is a woman somewhere who would prize

The chance to be a mother, love and give.

Your words can make a difference starting here.

A life depends on you, so persevere!

You’ll wake up with a shout of victory.

The righteous found in Christ shall see no death,

For with His sacrifice they were set free.

The resurrected Christ will be the one

To greet you when you close your mortal eyes.

For those who did believe God’s chosen Son,

Eternal life shall be their golden prize.

Don’t be afraid, my friend, instead rejoice!

Your days of tears and pain will soon be through!

The upright are the ones who made the choice

To put their faith in Jesus and pursue.

Be glad for there is victory in Christ!

He lives in you! His precious love sufficed!

4-22-15 Press Toward the Mark

If you believe the promises of God,

And of His only Son who spoke for Him,

By Grace will we be saved though we are flawed,

The blood of Christ alone atones the grim.

Then those of us whom Jesus Christ has called

Know well the crown of glory that awaits,

And all the things of earth no more than galled,

We keep our sight on Him and His estate.

Then let us hold the faith and move ahead,

To imitate the Savior’s life and love,

Remembering His blood for us was shed,

And all that we have now comes from above.

Press toward the mark: with Christ eternal life,

And be not so deterred through pain and strife.
