12-24-15 Under the Law

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Galatians 4:4 KJV

Before the earth was formed His time was set

To come into the world the perfect Lamb,

Fulfilling every prophecy and debt,

The son of woman and the great I AM.

He put a period upon the Law,

Conforming to it to the nth degree.

They all were made for Him and this He saw

Unto the cross, then there on Calvary

He bore the penalty of sin, His death,

By taking all our sins, the Law fulfilled,

Yet in three days He took a Holy breath

To bring eternal life with grace instilled.

The Law was satisfied; He broke its curse.

Believe in Jesus, let His love immerse.

REMEMBER: Jesus said: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” (Matthew 5:17)

6-11-15 For Unto Us

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah spoke of Christ ere He was born,

Assured by prophecy it comes to pass,

Both fully man and God, His message sworn;

A Prince above all Kings, no one surpass.

Both earth and heaven Jesus comes to rule,

The governance of both His shoulders bear;

So Wonderful indeed, most precious jewel,

In glory and in beauty none compare.

The Counselor advising sinners come,

The everlasting Father to the saved;

The Prince of Peace indeed to all, not some,

The Alpha and Omega, Love engraved.

Our Savior and our Lord, our all in all

Is Jesus Christ, the name the saints do call.

These gifts the Holy Spirit does convey.

He gives to one discernment of the heart,

Reveals the gift of tongues another speaks.

He then lets one interpret tongues apart;

They all are of one Spirit, but unique.

So many diff’rent members, though as one,

We all are of one body of the Son.

When you are saved by Christ’s atoning blood,

You then become much more than family;

The Spirit enters you just like a flood

And works on you uniquely by degree.

Just as the body is comprised of parts,

Each part designed to function for the whole,

Yet none can long survive when pulled apart

But thrives with all the others in their role.

The Holy Spirit knows your aptitude

And fashions you to serve in harmony.

It may not always be what you pursued

Before you came to Christ and was set free.

The gift the Spirit lays upon your heart

You’ll find in time was perfect from the start.

We all have talents given us by grace

According to the nature of our soul;

Just as the body has each part in place

That has a special function toward the whole.

The ones with prophesy speak truth so bold,

With ministry to aid the poor and weak;

The teachers lay the doctrine out as gold,

Exhorters urge, advise and so critique.

To those who give do with simplicity,

And those that rule are earnest in their care;

The merciful attend the anxious plea,

And everyone above immersed in prayer.

The gifts that God has given us to use

Should be to serve the Savior, not abuse.

4-29-15 Light Upon Light

The scriptures tell us stories of the past,

But deeper looks reveal much more than that.

In Babylon the Jews were free at last,

Yet augured future times we can look at.

The Jews had wished that their Messiah come,

And many thought these verses prophecy,

Yet when the Light of God had scarce become,

They nailed Him hand and feet on that cruel tree.

And now we see a darkness cover Earth,

The sin that people carry darker still,

But Jesus is the Light to bring new birth,

His glory seen through those who do His will.

Arise and shine! The Lord will come again!

His Light now lives in you and will remain!

3-19-15 Believe in the Light

The Son of God rode on a simple ass

Into Jerusalem the perfect Lamb.

He knew His sacrifice would come to pass;

This was no dress rehersal, was no sham.

The crowd did not yet grasp His prophecy

That He would soon be lifted from their midst.

“Walk in the light,” Christ said, “while you still see,

For when this light is gone, it will be missed,

And while you still have light, believe in Me,

That you may be the children of the light.”

O friend! If you believe Him now, He’ll set you free,

His light will be in you, His Spirit bright!

Though you can’t see His body, still believe;

Eternal life in Him you will receive.

1-10-15 Tittle

If Jesus said a thing would come to pass

By either the old prophets or himself,

It certainly would happen in its class

And not to be discarded on the shelf.

Then even the small dot above an ‘i’

Could not be cast away before its day,

Because the Lord has purpose to apply

A reason so we know it’s not cliché.

Then every prophecy of Christ came true,

A fact too large to just be swept away,

And even now they still do carry through

So those who know the scriptures know the way.

Be ready, friend, the rest is yet to come,

For Christ will soon return where he left from.

1-8-15 Fulfilled

Take every prophecy about the Lord

And check against the things that He has done,

And you will find that all across the board

Without a doubt He filled them every one.

Just trace the virgin birth until His death,

And then His resurrection and ascent,

The prophets witnessed with emboldened breath

About the Son of God from Heaven sent.

The odds of this are astronomical;

Indeed it leaves no doubt of who He is,

Yet many men still think it comical.

If only they could see this all is His.

            The proof of Christ our Savior are fulfilled

            And there are more to come the Father willed!
