9-13-15 At Hand

¹⁴ Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

¹⁵ And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The time was right, the prophesies fulfilled

To usher in the living God on earth,

And there was God Himself midst crowds that milled,

The perfect Son of Man of virgin birth.

He said with joy “I’ve got good news for you!

A liberation from Mosaic law!

Here’s peace and pardon and salvation, too!

Eternal life by grace, with love and awe!”

“Repent!” He said, “Your sins will I forgive!

Here’s all you have to do: Believe in Me!

I AM the Way, the Truth, My Life I give!

The realm of God’s at hand to set you free!”

If Jesus told you this, would you believe?

He sent me here to ask you to receive.

2-7-15 Thrive

Although the world around you is a mess

And everyone agrees it won’t last long

Before it all collapses in distress,

Because you are a child of God stand strong.

You live by faith so ready for the day

When you shall see the Lord in glory shown,

That even though the world will fall away

You praise the name of Jesus on His throne!

The body you inhabit soon must die,

Just like the universe so vast and grand,

But there is more to you than meets the eye

For you belong to He who will withstand.

Conduct yourself as one who will survive;

Beyond the mortal realm your soul shall thrive.

9-6-14 Every Knee Shall Bow

 

Of all the things in earth and heaven’s realm

The name of Jesus resonates with pow’r,

And there’s no doubt He’s truly at the helm

To guide the will of God home ev’ry hour.

With reverence all knees shall bow to Him

Acknowledging His sovereign rule and reign.

The angels up above break out in hymn

And all the things on earth join the refrain.

And God exalts Him to the highest place

Where He belongs to rule forever more.

We all exist in Jesus Christ’s embrace

To rest within His heart that we adore.

            All things in heaven and all things on earth

            With honor bow to Jesus and His worth.
