12-26-15 Do It For Him

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men

Ephesians 6:7 KJV

Whatever service you are tasked to do,

Your attitude reflects its quality.

If you work as for man your point of view

Will be to please a transient degree.

But if you act as if it were the Lord

Who will receive the fruit of your employ,

You’ll strive for excellence to one adored,

With love, devotion, gratitude and joy.

To be just good enough’s not good enough.

You represent the Lord of Lords today.

Your work now demonstrates more noble stuff

Than what can be produced then cast away.

With good will do your work as to the Lord,

And not to men, who seek their own reward.

REMEMBER: Whatever you do in the name of Christ, in the spirit of His love, He will sanctify. It doesn’t get any better than that!

9-13-15 At Hand

¹⁴ Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

¹⁵ And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The time was right, the prophesies fulfilled

To usher in the living God on earth,

And there was God Himself midst crowds that milled,

The perfect Son of Man of virgin birth.

He said with joy “I’ve got good news for you!

A liberation from Mosaic law!

Here’s peace and pardon and salvation, too!

Eternal life by grace, with love and awe!”

“Repent!” He said, “Your sins will I forgive!

Here’s all you have to do: Believe in Me!

I AM the Way, the Truth, My Life I give!

The realm of God’s at hand to set you free!”

If Jesus told you this, would you believe?

He sent me here to ask you to receive.

8-24-15 Bringing Sight

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

Luke 18:42 KJV

The blind are all around you, look and see.

They stumble through their life within the dark,

But tell them this, they bellow “Let me be!”

They take offense at every kind remark.

The light of Jesus lives within you now,

So take the bushel off and let it shine!

It radiates to those who will allow

The gospel to be shared, the truth divine.

Someone will stumble forward reaching out

With faith that Christ alone can give them sight.

The quick’ning of the Spirit makes them shout

As they are saved and finally see the light.

The blind are all around you, but be brave

And let your light so shine; its love will save.

6-3-15 Fire and Power

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:

and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,

and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Before the Lord rose up into the clouds,

He spoke to His disciples full of love

About the Holy Ghost they’d be endowed,

And His great power come from up above.

When you accept the Savior as your Lord,

Believing that He died for all your sin,

The Holy Ghost will come with one accord

And enter you with power deep within.

Then in this fire you know that He is real,

That Jesus lives within you heart and soul.

The Holy Ghost abides in you with zeal;

You’ll tell the world how Christ has made you whole.

The power that rose Jesus from the grave

Resides within you like a tidal wave

3-19-15 Believe in the Light

The Son of God rode on a simple ass

Into Jerusalem the perfect Lamb.

He knew His sacrifice would come to pass;

This was no dress rehersal, was no sham.

The crowd did not yet grasp His prophecy

That He would soon be lifted from their midst.

“Walk in the light,” Christ said, “while you still see,

For when this light is gone, it will be missed,

And while you still have light, believe in Me,

That you may be the children of the light.”

O friend! If you believe Him now, He’ll set you free,

His light will be in you, His Spirit bright!

Though you can’t see His body, still believe;

Eternal life in Him you will receive.

12-15-14 Heartily

No matter what you do, give it your all,

For you work not for men, but for your Lord.

The treasure you earn here won’t spend at all

In your eternal home to be explored.

Rededicate your life to Christ right now,

And do all that you do for Him alone.

Your earthly needs the Savior will endow;

Put all your trust in Jesus on the throne.

You’re only in this world for just a flash,

But what you do while here affects your soul.

Would you be known for seeking wads of cash,

Or working for the Lord your only goal?

It’s better to be praised by God than man,

So serve the Lord and do the best you can.

10-6-14 As a Little Child

A child accepts a gift with fervent glee

And lays aside all pride and prejudice.

Those newly dead to sin and so set free

Receives the gospel with unfettered bliss.

The intellect sometimes can know a truth,

But can’t compare to soul accepting Christ.

This kind of joy reflects the golden youth

Who drink salvation’s milk as life sufficed.

God’s kingdom truly is the greatest gift

To those sincere at heart who love the Lord;

No longer lost in sin and set adrift,

The infant child of God gets his reward.

Stretch out your arms, embrace the bold good news;

Redemption’s in your reach, it’s yours to choose.

7-15-14 Precious

My child, you are more precious than the stars;

The atoms of your being more than gold.

No matter what you do or where you are

God’s ever present love will not withhold.

You cannot do a thing or think a thought

To lessen God’s devotion to your soul.

The world may hate you now but God cannot;

His love is always present, always whole.

Please understand God wants to bring you home.

That’s why He sent His Son, to die for you,

To take away your sins, no need to roam;

The barriers to Heaven Christ withdrew.

Your Father calls you home His love receive

Now all you have to do is just believe.
