10-7-15 Rejoice!

meeting-jesus

Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psalm 32:11 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
When you lay down and take your final breath,
You’ll wake up with a shout of victory.
The righteous found in Christ shall see no death,
For with His sacrifice they were set free.
The resurrected Christ will be the one
To greet you when you close your mortal eyes.
For those who did believe God’s chosen Son,
Eternal life shall be their golden prize.
Don’t be afraid, my friend, instead rejoice!
Your days of tears and pain will soon be through!
The upright are the ones who made the choice
To put their faith in Jesus and pursue.
Be glad for there is victory in Christ!
He lives in you! His precious love sufficed!
3-8-15 Waxing Cold
Frozen_Heart_by_Dioxenya
The latter days of woe are on us now,
While sins of every kind so more abound.
The saints themselves are furrowing their brow,
For righteousness is nowhere to be found.
Because despair can burrow in your heart
To whisper in your ear that all is lost,
You will be tempted to let love depart,
But soon thereafter shroud yourself in frost.
Do not forget the stone was rolled away,
To show the tomb was bare where Jesus lay.
He conquered death and hell upon that day
And lives forever more, so don’t dismay.
When all seems lost and ice begins to form,
Remember Christ is with you through the storm.
~~~~~~~~~~~

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Matthew 24:12 KJV

080314 The Quickening

twinkling

When you are born again upon the cross

And Jesus now becomes your Lord and King,

The Spirit of the Father moves across,

Transforming mortal flesh that once did cling.

If God should call you home to be with Him

Before the Second Coming of the Lord,

Your earthly shell will fade, but don’t be grim,

The body you once had will be restored.

You are a new creation when you’re saved,

And though your worldly robe still falls apart,

When Jesus shall return what once enslaved

Will be a perfect temple at restart.

So God, who raised up Jesus from the dead,

Will raise you up as well as He has said.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV
7-2-14 The Mortal Breath of Man (a Sonnet)
Breath
The mortal breath of man is finite bound;
There are only a few and then no more.
Then death ordained must finally come around
To bare the mystery beyond the door.
The heart of man does tremble at the thought
That nothing could be waiting patiently,
Yet those who know the way that God has wrought
Will walk the path of immortality.
The way, the truth, the life is Jesus Christ,
In which our Maker claimed all righteousness.
The wages of our sin He paid the price,
Then died but rose again we must confess.
Our Saviour conquered death so you may live
Beyond the mortal breath, His love to give.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the way of righteousness there is life;

along that path is immortality.

Proverbs 12:28
