10-19-15 Advice From the Shepherd

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Matthew 10:16 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
The wolves won’t hesitate to eat you up,
For you’re the Shepherd’s sheep sent forth to save.
They hate the One who drank the bitter cup
And now He lives within you strong and brave.
The children of the night now circle ’round
And wait for you to stumble in their midst.
Be wise, therefore, as serpents to confound,
And keep the mind of Christ when they persist.
You cannot last a moment on your own;
Depend upon the Savior all the time.
Be harmless, then, as doves – you’re not alone;
No matter what they do remain sublime.
With cunning Jesus rose above the hate.
In innocence He set the record straight.
8-8-15 Undoing Satan’s Plan
Healing
32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
Mark 1:32-34 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

Before the serpent dared deceive poor Eve

The Garden was a paradise on Earth.

There was no sickness and no cause to grieve;

No sin existed, no defect or dearth.

But after Adam fell and sin moved in,

Disease and devils grew across the land.

Then Jesus came and let His work begin,

Rebuking and undoing Satan’s plan.

Christ showed us all with action what to do,

Now that we are ambassadors of His:

Reclaim the Garden, in His name renew,

Beginning in ourselves the way Christ is.

With Jesus in control, God’s kingdom come;

With love prepare for New Jerusalem.

2-9-15 Just Ask

ask

A father that will give his son a stone

Who asks of him some bread is not a dad;

If you asked God for help with soulful groan,

He’d give you what you need with all He had.

A day will come when you are on your knees,

Your spirit crying out in agony,

Then God will know your heart and long to please;

He sent His Son to save and set you free.

There is no thing a father would not do

To satisfy the longings of his child.

Let Jesus intercede, just ask Him to;

He grants you peace on earth and mercy mild.

God gifts His Spirit if you just request;

If you but ask from Him you will be blessed.

~~~~~~~~~~~
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father,
will he give him a stone?
or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luke 11:11-12 KJV
