2-24-16 Passed Away

tears

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Revelation 21:4 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
You’re grieving now, I know. I’m grieving, too.
A soul we love so dearly’s passed away.
Our tears fall now and sadness pushes through.
We mourn our loss but know that one fine day
There will be no more death, no last embrace,
No sorrow, no more mourning, no more pain.
The love of Christ our Lord shall be in place,
The glory of His presence then shall reign,
And God shall wipe all tears from all our eyes;
Here crying is replaced with laughter’s song.
We’ll reunite with loved ones; joy will rise,
For we will all be where we should belong.
We’ve lost a friend and sister here today,
But soon these sort of things shall pass away.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: Let us celebrate in Christ, for we will one day be reunited.

2-23-16 On Faith

onfaith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
You go to bed assured that you will wake;
A pregnant woman knows her child will come;
You drool just thinking of that chocolate cake;
Guitarists play the song before they strum.
Now, faith is not believing it will be,
It’s knowing that it is before it is.
I do not have to touch, don’t have to see
To know that Jesus lives; my heart is His.
It was by faith Christ calmed the tempest sea,
By faith He made the blind man see anew.
Within the grace of God you’ll find the key:
You live by faith in everything you do.
In faith you have the truth to set you free.
The tiny seed contains the mighty tree.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation. (D. Elton Trueblood)

12-28-15 Lost and Found

lost sheep

12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Matthew 18:12-13 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
You wandered lost within the wilderness
Before you even knew that you were lost,
And by the time you came to some distress
In jagged rocks and winter winds that tossed,
The Savior had pursued you all along
With such a love that can’t be full explained.
His outstretched hand was there your whole lifelong;
His mark upon your heart so deep ingrained,
And when you finally fall into His arms,
He’ll put you on His shoulders safe and strong,
To bring you Home where nothing hurts or harms,
Rejoicing all the way with cheer and song.
O can you hear Him calling out your name?
Just put your hand in His. That’s why He came.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: The instant you make Jesus your personal Lord and Savior there is a celebration in Heaven that continues forever.

12-21-15 Serve the Lord with Gladness

maureen-6

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Psalm 100:2 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
Let’s serve the Lord with gladness, joy and cheer!
Let’s worship Him with singing full and strong!
Now come before His presence, gather near,
And praise our God with labor and with song!
Assemble all you saints and harmonize
By lifting up your voice in gratitude,
For by His loving grace our souls arise
To worship Christ our Lord with certitude!
Let’s praise the Lord, for He has shown His love!
Upon the cross He sacrificed His life
So those of us with faith could soar above,
To serve Him here and in the afterlife!
Let’s magnify the Lord and share the Word!
Let Jesus work through us now undeterred!
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: When you serve the Lord with joy in your heart and a song on your lips, the unsaved will be more receptive to His light in you.

10-24-15 Let All the People Praise Thee

praise

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Psalm 67:3

~~~~~~~~~~~
Let all the people praise Thee, O my Lord!
Let’s raise the roof for Jesus, multitude!
O Savior, listen to this vast accord!
Redeemer, You have made our hearts renewed!
Let all the people praise Thee, O my God!
Let’s get this gathering up on its feet!
O Christ, receive this song as we applaud!
Messiah, You have made our hearts complete!
Let all the people praise Thee, O my King!
Let’s bring revival to this neighborhood!
O Lamb of God, we feel the love You bring!
Good Shepherd, You have changed these hearts for good!
Now let the people praise Thee, Lord of Lords!
Let all the people sing these fervid chords!
4-4-15 Song of Expectation
angels-looking-down-over-us
Come join me in this song that has no end,
And we will praise the Lord forever more!
He’s our salvation, whom we can depend;
Our Savior Jesus, He’s worth living for!
Now, see this bloody pool on Calvary?
He died here on the cross just yesterday.
He sacrificed His life for you and me
Our sins He took upon Himself to pay!
Observe that giant stone before the tomb?
That’s where our Savior’s body then was laid.
Tomorrow that will be an empty room
For He will conquer death’s thin masquerade!
We sing, for Jesus Christ will soon be here!
Our resurrected Lord whom we revere!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Behold, God is my salvation;

I will trust, and not be afraid:

for the LORD is my strength and my song;

he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:2 KJV

2-5-14 Cheap Silver Cross (Lyrics)

Image

At church one dark day Jesus found me;

I was hiding alone in the back.

He called me by name,

My heart did He save

Even though it was sin-full and black.

When I left there my soul was on fire,

Covered now in my Savior’s own blood.

I was poor but I bought

A cheap silver cross,

Made a necklace from string in the mud.

REFRAIN       That old cross is still here today

                        It’s never too far away

                        That’s where Christ left my sins

                        That’s where my life begins

                        It reminds me of the price that He paid.

A new chain took the place of that string

But the cheap silver cross still remains

It’s turned black as night

It’s an ugly sight

Like the sins Jesus left there to hang.

[REFRAIN]

Whenever I start feeling down

Whenever I’m tempted to stray

I look at that cheap

Silver cross blackened deep

Jesus died for us all that dark day.

[REFRAIN]

How Long?

Lord, there’s trouble all about,

wars are raging, floods and drought;

Satan’s mark is everywhere,

people sinning, they don’t care.

Your lambs are slaughtered every day,

Please come back, Jesus, this I pray.

How long, O Lord, how long?

Now wrong is right and right is wrong.

How long, O Lord, how long

until we shout the rapture song?

Evil seems to rule the land,

our darkest hour is now at hand;

Your saints are fighting night and day,

we never ceases to fast and pray.

God’s plan is perfect, pure and right;

we call Your name with all our might!

How long, O Lord, how long?

Now wrong is right and right is wrong.

How long, O Lord, how long

until we shout the rapture song?
