11-20-14 Spiritual Milk

Just as a newborn babe needs milk to live,

Desire the word of God to feed your soul;

Without it’s nourishment you fail to give

The sustenance you need to make you whole.

Essential truths within the gospel form

A base to grasp much deeper certainties;

The language fundamentals soon transform

What once was gibberish to spoken ease.

How can you understand God’s awsome grace

Unless you know what Jesus did for you?

How can you hope to win the final race

Unless you train your muscles to push through?

Your spirit cries in hunger for the Word;

The Savior’s gentle teachings are preferred.

As newborn babes,

desire the sincere milk of the word,

that ye may grow thereby:

1 Peter 2:2

10-30-14 Not Flesh and Blood

The battle’s not with flesh but for the soul,

Against an enemy with cunning wiles,

An evil set to wrestle for control

With arguments and force or charm and smiles.

He wants to take your friends and family,

Your church, your neighborhood, your country, too.

There is one thing that you can both agree:

The time grows short; there’s much work left to do.

Don’t take this foe for granted; don’t you sleep!

The battle’s now; keep God’s whole armor on!

With prayer within your heart and courage keep;

With Jesus by your side success is drawn!

The rulers of the darkness of this world

Don’t stand a chance; let Christ’s whole flag unfurl!

9-21-14 Encourage One Another

Your earthly relatives by blood are joined,

With uncles, aunts and cousins on both sides.

You’ve also family not gene conjoined,

A spiritual connection that abides.

The saving blood of Jesus covers all

Who do believe He is the Son of God;

Now children of our Father God recall

Our brothers and our sisters Spirit awed.

Encourage one another piously

To cling unto the Saviour and His love,

For we are one with Jesus by decree,

And build each other up to God above.

With Grace in faith the Way back home is clear,

Revitalize your siblings far and near.
