12-17-15 Gifts of the Magi

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

GIFTS OF THE MAGI

The Magi came by following a star

To pay their homage to the King of Kings,

For it was worth their traveling so far

To meet the Lord of Lords and what He brings.

They opened up their treasures and withdrew

Some frankincense and myrrh and precious gold,

These gifts they gave to baby Jesus true

As symbols of the mission He’d uphold.

The gold paid homage to His royalty;

The frankincense for His divinity;

The myrrh to signify humanity:

A King, a God, a sacrifice was He.

The Son of God was born so He could die,

Atonement for our sins to sanctify

REMEMBER: The best gift you can give Jesus is complete surrender of your body, mind and soul to Him. Do this constantly.

10-23-15 Your Days Are Numbered

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

The only day you know you have is here,

So set about as if it is your last.

Tomorrow is not promised to appear;

The best day of your life is fading fast.

You know this to be true but still you yawn;

How many days have you survived thus far?

A wise man counts each day as his last dawn

And counts the Lord his only constant star.

The place and time to live is here and now.

Do everything with love while you still can.

The sun tomorrow God may not allow,

So treat today the end of your lifespan.

Get up this instant! Get upon your feet!

Give all that you can give to all you meet!

3-30-15 Neither Fail Nor Forsake

I AM your God, and I will always BE,

I do not sleep, I do not slumber, too.

I watch a star evolve, I watch a flea,

I watch the universe; I’m watching you.

I will not fail you; you can count on Me.

I always keep the promises I make.

I know that life has its adversity;

I won’t abandon you when love’s at stake.

I did not leave when Adam fell from grace,

I never did forsake the prophets bold.

I was with Jesus til sin took His place;

I was with Him when death failed to take hold.

Relax, My child, You’ll never be alone

I AM your God, and you are all My own.

11-15-14 Reflections

You see your own reflection when you look

Into a mirror or a windless lake,

So who you are reads often like a book

When others see the face your heart does make.

You cannot fake the Spirit’s countenance;

It shines from every atom of your form,

And if you lack the Light a soul can sense

No matter what you do you just perform.

The heart reflects the person that you are:

A child of God is known when first you meet;

We fool ourselves believing we’re a star

But wiser men can see our own conceit.

Surrender who you are to Christ right now

And let His light reflect upon your brow.

10-14-14 Wonderfully Made

If I spoke all the seconds of my days

I could not apt describe the human form,

For ev’ry cell and fibre does amaze;

The learned best feel wonder at the norm.

Exquisite is the mind, and even now

No one can understand the thoughts of man,

But I of hope and faith can thus avow

That through Your love and grace so I began.

O Father, how I’m awed by all You’ve done!

How You can make the atom and a star!

I once was a creation, now a son;

Christ’s sacrifice transformed my soul by far.

So marvelous Your works both great and small,

Yet You are greater still, over it all.
