1-15-16 The Tick Behind the Talk

deception

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Proverbs 23:7 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
A man will make a statement through his tongue,
But what he thinks may be another thing.
Beware the motives that his lie has sprung,
Lest somewhere down the road you’ll feel its sting.
When Jesus walked the earth he always knew
The real intent within each person’s heart.
Discretion comes from knowing what is true,
And truth’s the Word of God that won’t depart.
The more you pray the more God’s wisdom will be known,
For half of prayer is listening patiently,
And through the mind of Christ you will be shown
The mainspring of a man; yea, more than he.
When you’re connected to the Word of God,
You will not be distracted by a fraud.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: We do not merely contend with the lies of men – we fight against the Father of lies, Satan.

3-26-15 Greatest in the Kingdom

jesus-girl

The greatest in the kingdom is the least:

A little child without pretentious claim

Who waits until the guests have left the feast

To have the smallest portion all the same.

A little child is humble, kind and shy,

Who lives to hear her Father’s loving call

Then runs into His arms not asking why,

Expecting no reward or gift at all.

The child of God thinks nothing of herself,

Without the selfishness of evil’s sting,

And leaves her own needs high upon the shelf,

Reliant on her God for everything.

            Whoever’s humble as a little child

            Is greatest in the kingdom, meek and mild.

            ~~~~~~~~~~~
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,
the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:4 KJV
2-21-15 Speak
martinlutherkingjr
Let not the fear of men hold back your tongue
When telling of your Savior, Christ the King.
The world’s not like your church where hymns are sung;
Its look is harsh, its words like bees will sting.
Be not afraid, but speak both bold and true;
With Jesus by your side He’ll see you through,
And even if they hold a knife to you,
With your last breath forgive them what they do.
Within a crowd there will be one to save,
But if you don’t speak up they may not hear.
The world may put your body in the grave;
The gospel, though, will never disappear.
Though Satan’s at your door and you feel weak,
The Savior’s here with you – stand up and speak!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision,

Be not afraid, but speak,

and hold not thy peace

Acts 18:9 KJV

9-11-14 Through the Valley

valley george inness

The valley of the shadow of my death

Is filled with hidden demons clawed with doubt.

Though evil may dissuade with ev’ry breath,

I have no fear: my Shepherd’s here throughout.

My soul draws nigh toward this journey’s end

And I stand facing my eternity,

But when I die my spirit will ascend:

My Shepherd’s face is all that I can see.

He holds the rod of strength, His Holy Word;

His staff is victory beyond the grave;

When I pass on, this body is interred,

Yet there’s no sting; my spirit He did save.

Though I must walk into the valley floor,

My Shepherd guides me through an open door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4 KJV
