2-5-16 Built on Sand

HouseOntheSand1

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Matthew 7: 26-27 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
How many of us like a foolish man
Who listens to the Word and nods his head,
But keeps instead his own distorted plan
And builds his house without foundation bed.
Just knowing Christ’s commands is not enough;
He needs to be within our hands and feet.
A fancy car without four tires rides rough;
A house built on the sand the floods defeat.
If Jesus is your Lord, then serve Him well;
A servant is no good laid up in bed.
When trouble comes all you can do is yell.
The storms of life will tear your house to shreds.
A tree with meager roots is doomed to fall;
The first time winds descend the tree will sprawl.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: A strong foundation is built by exercising the will of Christ.

2-4-16 Laying Our Foundation

rock

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Matthew 7:24-25 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
We all are building our eternal home,
And as you know location’s everything.
The world and all that’s in it is as loam,
And heaven is the rock of Christ our king.
The carpenter from Nazareth knows best
Where we should lay our home’s foundation base.
With His instructions we’ll be double blessed:
We’ll be entrenched between His love and grace.
When troubles come upon us like a storm,
And rain and flood and winds do beat and knock,
We’ll be inside with Jesus safe and warm,
For nothing can prevail against this Rock.
The rock of our salvation is in Christ.
Let’s build our home on Him and be sufficed.
~~~~~~~~~~~

REMEMBER: The foundation of your heavenly home is built by doing His commandments.

10-3-15 Walk the Walk

being a christian

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luke 6:46 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you a follower by word or deed?
It matters when you reach the other side.
Most anyone can memorize a creed;
The words take on new meaning when applied.
What good are all the scriptures if ignored?
I tell you there are some who ‘know’ the word,
But when it comes to Jesus as their Lord,
They don’t know how to act and not be heard.
If you believe in Jesus, walk the walk;
A fruit is known by taste and not just form.
A plastic bird is nothing more than schlock;
An eagle rides the clouds above a storm.
He won’t know who you are when you cry ‘Lord’
If you don’t do His will. You’ll be ignored.
9-11-15 You Are Not Alone
you are not alone
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
Psalm 34:15 KJV
~~~~~~~~~~~

No matter where you go you’re not alone;

The presence of the Lord will see you through.

His eyes are on you now, His grace is shown:

The righteousness of Jesus dwells in you.

God’s eye of Providence: a blanket warm,

To comfort and protect you faithfully.

His eye of Love to see you through each storm,

A Father’s gaze upon His child set free.

He hears your cries within the tempest roar

When all the world is shouting out their sins.

He answers all your prayers and even more

Responds to every groan as it begins.

You put your faith in Christ upon the throne;

Now rest assured you’ll never be alone.

4-25-15 Location, Location

house_on_rock

When drama comes and beats against your home

Does it destroy all of the work you’ve done?

Then your foundation’s built upon some loam

And soon before you know it you must run.

But if you build your home on Jesus Christ

It’s on the Rock of Ages and secure.

No storm can move you then, His word sufficed,

The tragedies of life won’t long endure.

Upon the rock of Jesus stake your claim;

No better place to stop and settle down.

The scriptures serve to be the strongest frame

And God’s Grace like a roof won’t let you drown.

For all the rest there’s one whom I refer:

He happens to be quite the carpenter.

~~~~~~~~~~~
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Luke 6: 47-49 KJV
Cease From Anger
anger
An angry man is one who’s lost his way,
Adrift within a storm of wrath and hate.
The steady wind of spirit does not sway
To gently guide him through the narrow gate.
We all know someone quick to stew and scowl,
A powder keg just waiting for a spark.
Please love them though their grace has gone afoul,
But don’t let them pull you into their dark.
If you’re an angry person there is hope;
Submit yourself to Jesus all the time.
He’ll lead you to the ways that help you cope;
He is the rope thrown down to help you climb.
The evil men commit is anger made
And leads to certain death where Hell is laid.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:

fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalm 37:8 KJV

3-8-15 Waxing Cold

Frozen_Heart_by_Dioxenya

The latter days of woe are on us now,

While sins of every kind so more abound.

The saints themselves are furrowing their brow,

For righteousness is nowhere to be found.

Because despair can burrow in your heart

To whisper in your ear that all is lost,

You will be tempted to let love depart,

But soon thereafter shroud yourself in frost.

Do not forget the stone was rolled away,

To show the tomb was bare where Jesus lay.

He conquered death and hell upon that day

And lives forever more, so don’t dismay.

When all seems lost and ice begins to form,

Remember Christ is with you through the storm.

~~~~~~~~~~~
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matthew 24:12 KJV
1-21-15 Our Refuge and Strength
refuge and strength
When trouble comes, and we all know it’s here,
There is no better help than Jesus Christ.
Just call His name, there’s nothing more to fear,
Though Satan seeks to have your angst enticed.
Draw strength from Jesus, He is all you need;
His guidance gets you through the greatest trial.
With calm assurance Christ has you succeed;
The evil of this world cannot beguile.
Discord and discontent are now the norm,
But when you keep the Savior out in front
You’ll find refuge against the daily storm;
He fortifies your soul against affront.
In Jesus you are safe; on Him depend.
In darkest night there is no better friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~

God is our refuge and strength,

a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1 KJV

12-18-14 Fear Not

holy fighter

My God! We need Your help this stormy night!

The wolves of evil howl outside our door!

We’ve got nowhere to run so we must fight!

O Father! We are weary, scared and sore.

The enemy attacks all night and day

With claws to snatch our friends and family!

The time grows short! My Lord, we pray

That You will strengthen us to set them free!

Uphold us with Your righteousness, O King,

And give us courage as we face the beast!

Our faith is great! God, You are everything!

Your Word upon our hearts and fear’s decreased!

The armies of the enemy are here,

But You are with us now, no need to fear!

~~~~~~~~~~~
Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10 KJV
8-9-14 In the Storm
stormy sea by alex linde
The world is filled with evil ev’ry day,
And millions cry to Heaven for relief.
“Why don’t You stop this madness?” many pray;
The Christ they know would not allow such grief.
The opposition to His name is great
But this creates much opportunity
To let the Saviour in us actuate
Whatever Spirit bids us do and be.
Now listen, let the Father’s Will proclaim,
And know that Christ can still the tempest storm.
Have faith, my friend, and act upon His name;
The greater faith, the greater you conform.
The perfect plan of God’s a mystery
To all but those whose faith has set them free.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He said to them, “Why are you so afraid?

Have you still no faith?”

Mark 4:40 ESV
