2-15-16 Perish

¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

For well we ought look back upon the day

When Israel descended into bane.

The temple may have stood on grand display

But all the wise men thought with half their brain.

America was founded under God

And while our hearts inclined our works were great,

But now our worshiping is largely flawed

And all our understanding obfuscate.

The fall of this Republic’s drawing nigh

Unless there is revival in the land.

‘Turn back unto the Lord!’ should be our cry,

‘One nation under God!’ should be our brand.

We’ve fallen into ruin, we’re on the brink.

If we don’t turn to God we’ll surely sink.

REMEMBER: The Creator gave us our rights; apostasy will cause them to go away.

7-8-15 Sword of the Spirit

⁵ Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

⁶ And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

⁷ Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

When Satan brought the Lord to temple’s top

Where all Jerusalem could see the sight,

He tempted Him to try a belly flop

To prove that angels save Him from that height.

The Devil hoped that Jesus would be proud

To show the world He was the Son of God,

But Lucifer was wrong, Christ won’t be bowed,

And tempting God just would not be allowed.

If Satan could attempt this on the Lord,

You know full good and well that he’d tempt you,

But as a child of God you’ve Spirit’s sword,

The Word that, just like Jesus, you turn to.

You shan’t be tempted when you use the Word,

And lean upon the Savior undeterred.

6-22-15 Call

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God:

and he did hear my voice out of his temple,

and my cry did enter into his ears.

Thank God you have the Lord that you can call

When in distress and frantic for His aid.

Be sure that He will hear you when you fall;

He understood your voice each time you prayed.

Don’t be afraid to seek the Savior’s help

When all seems lost and you have gone astray.

You may feel like a homeless, helpless whelp,

But call upon the Lord though you dismay.

There never is a time when Christ won’t hear;

If you are His you’re linked eternally.

The groanings of your heart in pain or fear

Within the grace of God will set you free.

Your cries will reach the temple of the Lord

You will not be unheard nor worse ignored.

6-12-15 Blessed Be He

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD:

Had Jesus lived and taught when David ruled,

The King would bless Him from the temple grounds.

But Christ came when the Priests their hearts were cooled,

And all He heard from them were angry sounds.

But we disciples of the risen Lord

Sing out “Hosanna!” with a single voice.

We worship Jesus whom we’ve long adored;

With blessings loud and strong we do rejoice!

In adoration from a faith full house,

Accept the Savior’s presence in your life.

The temple of your heart and mind espouse

The High Priest Christ whose perfect love is rife.

O blessed be the One who conquered death!

We live for Him and praise Him with each breath!

6-8-15 Through a Glass Darkly

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The evening crowd is gone, and streets are dark

And in our joyful state we roam the night.

Ahead the temple of the Lord we mark

And soon peer in it’s windows with our sight.

We think the glass is dark, but it’s our eyes;

We think we know it all, but it’s in part.

Yet O the wonders seen when we grow wise!

Yet O the things we’ll know when heaven smart!

We journey far to see a lion close;

The final twenty yards will make us sweat.

The glass is dark until the light draws close;

You know in part until the Savior’s met.

When we’ve the mind of Christ through Love and Grace

A servant we become then, face to face.

5-3-15 Consider Your Ways

Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts;

Consider your ways.

Haggai 1:5 KJV

Observe your life and look at what you’ve wrought.

Now take another look just to be sure.

Consider all your ills as well you ought,

And then consider looking for a cure.

You plant but don’t have plans to yield a crop;

You eat, but you are still not satisfied;

You drink but don’t enjoy the final drop;

You’re cold but then you dress in just your pride.

You earn but put your cash in bags with holes;

The more you look, the less that you do find.

Now ask yourself who sits at the controls;

The temple burns but you don’t seem to mind.

If what you’re doing doesn’t seem to fly,

Put Jesus in control – don’t pass Him by.

8-6-14 Temple of the Spirit

When you take Jesus as your sovereign Lord,

A change begins to happen throughout you:

The Holy Spirit promptly climbs aboard

And now transforms you into something new.

As He regenerates and sanctifies,

The Spirit needs a holy place to dwell;

Your body is His temple til it dies,

So live a wholesome life and treat it well.

Do not defile this temple of the flesh

With baseless sin and moral turpitude;

You gave your life to Jesus – keep it fresh!

As you conform to Christ, you’ll be renewed.

The temple is a place of holiness

Through which His work is done with love expressed.

Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary

of the Holy Spirit who is in you,

whom you have from God?
