9-4-15 Render

dollar

14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s.

17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marveled at him.

Mark 12:14-17 KJV

We have an obligation to the world

To give unto the rulers what is theirs.

Whatever flag above us is unfurled,

Obey that government; give them their shares.

We can’t forsake this world while we are here,

And still employ the money of the land.

Rebel and soon officials will appear

Reminding us the debt we owe at hand.

So render unto Caesar what is his,

And render unto God what’s His as well.

If you think taxes are too high as is,

Then use the laws to change it where you dwell.

No matter what the levy is, just pay,

And give your heart to Christ without delay.

7-8-15 Sword of the Spirit

swordofthespirit

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Matthew 4:5-7 KJV

When Satan brought the Lord to temple’s top

Where all Jerusalem could see the sight,

He tempted Him to try a belly flop

To prove that angels save Him from that height.

The Devil hoped that Jesus would be proud

To show the world He was the Son of God,

But Lucifer was wrong, Christ won’t be bowed,

And tempting God just would not be allowed.

If Satan could attempt this on the Lord,

You know full good and well that he’d tempt you,

But as a child of God you’ve Spirit’s sword,

The Word that, just like Jesus, you turn to.

You shan’t be tempted when you use the Word,

And lean upon the Savior undeterred.

11-10-14 Go Away!

Get Thee Behind Me

The moment you awake to face the day

The devil is around to tempt your soul.

He’ll whisper ‘You’re not worthy now to pray,’

And ‘God’s too busy now to play that role.’

The father of all lies will turn your head;

He has a million ways to make you doubt.

Pick up the shield of faith and move ahead

And say “Behind me, Satan! Go! Get out!”

You do not have to deal with him at all;

Just use the Word of God as Spirit’s sword.

Call out to Jesus, He won’t let you fall;

No, Satan cannot fight against the Lord.

When you are saved you only choose to sin;

Stay close to God, don’t let the devil win.

Get thee behind me, Satan!

10-20-14 The Lord’s Prayer 05a: Deliver Us

temptation of st anthony

O Father, save us from temptation’s snare,

The kind that lead us far away from You.

If You must test us, help us stay aware

Your trials help to keep us wise and true.

The Devil may attempt to feed us doubt;

He may tempt to distrust the Holy Ghost.

O God, though trouble circles us about,

Deliver us from evil’s hoary boast.

Emancipate our minds from wicked thoughts

And save our souls from Satan’s hateful ways;

Your Son and our Redeemer Jesus taught

That we should call on You, God, when we pray.

So lead us not into temptation’s hold.

Deliver us from evil, make us bold.

~~~~~~~~~~~
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil
Matthew 6:13 KJV
