2-17-16 Hidden Treasure

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Matthew 13:44 KJV

Those blinded by the god of this world fail

To find the gospel set within their reach.

When you show them this treasure might the scale

At last with Spirit’s nudge fall from the breach.

And then to see the light shine from their eyes

As they begin to feel their soul set free,

And, O, the Holy Ghost within them rise

As they come to the cross and like Him dies!

Then nothing in the world could buy them back

For they have given Jesus all they’ve got.

The Savior paid the price; though sins were black,

He made them white as snow, both sought and bought.

There is a man and woman stumbling ’round,

Just waiting for the gospel to be found.

REMEMBER: Commit to telling at least one person today about this greatest of all treasures, the gospel.

10-5-14 Be Ready

If Jesus comes today are you prepared?

If you have doubt at all then get that way!

Don’t waste another hour and think you’re spared;

He’ll be here any moment of the day.

If Christ’s blood covers you, resign your will

And let His love shine forth in word and deed.

Go out and save the lost, His work fulfill,

And follow God’s commandments though you bleed.

If you are waiting for some proof or sign

Before you give your heart to Jesus then,

This IS the proof, this IS the cue divine,

Don’t wait another second once again!

When He returns your heart will give a shout!

Be ready NOW! He’s near! Don’t be left out!

10-3-14 Patiently Waiting for Christ

Oh Lord, direct our hearts into God’s love,

That perfect sanctuary full of light,

Where angels always worship from above

And fills our souls with gladness in His sight.

Now let us be submerged in holy praise

So that we might arrive into God’s heart.

We pray that we might linger all our days

While we await our Saviour to impart

His presence promised, then to be achieved

When those who died in Him begin to rise.

Count us, Oh Lord, among those who believed

And waited steadily with no disguise.

Please draw us into God’s pure heart where we

Anticipate Christ’s coming patiently.

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God,

and into the patient waiting for Christ.

9-5-14 This Waiting Room

No matter what this world can throw at you

Salvation is the rock that shelters soul.

Your mind may wonder what is really true;

Your heart may break, unable to console;

Your body may rebel and grow so weak;

Your spirit may be troubled to the core.

Just wait upon the Lord, no need to seek;

No matter what you lose, He will restore.

God is your best defence, you can’t be moved;

Though you may grow bone weary, He will hold,

And by His Grace you have been blood approved.

Have faith, for God’s salvation He’ll uphold.

            This waiting room may seem to you depraved

            But once you see the Doctor you’ll be saved.
